HEAD OF GEOPHYSICS

Join our team as our Head of Geophysics in our Marine Survey Division 🌟Tecnoambiente, a subsidiary of Tradebe, is a multidisciplinary geoscience and environmental consultancy, with its own accredited laboratory. Specialized in the marine environment, offshore and coastal, we perform hydrographic, geophysical, geotechnical and environmental surveys and studies for projects in Europe, West Africa, and Latin America.What will you do? Make an impact!As the Head of Geophysics, you will be the primary point of contact for all technical matters related to geophysics. Reporting to the Offshore Operation Manager and collaborating closely with the Survey Manager, you will be responsible for creating and continuously improving marine survey geophysics standards. You will ensure that project operational strategies are efficient, working closely with the Survey Manager to minimize vessel downtime and maximize acquisition efficiency.Develop, validate, and propose geophysics methodologies in line with marine survey industry best practices, focusing on equipment, procedures, and software.Present cost-efficient, optimized geophysical techniques to meet contract requirements and budget constraints while troubleshooting technical challenges beyond the expertise of vessel crews and data scientists.Support the Tender and Sales teams by providing technical input and validating bid strategies, including line plans and equipment assessments.Coach and enhance the skills of Marine Scientists and Data Scientists, collaborating with the Data Center to optimize data processing, interpretation, and reporting.Work closely with the QHSE team to identify hazards and develop mitigation plans while providing technical support for geophysical equipment maintenance.Evaluate breakthrough technologies (e.g., AUV, USV) and lead competency assessments; you may also be appointed as Project Manager for specific projects.Do you have what it takes?Master's degree (or equivalent) in geoscience disciplines.Aprox 10 years of demonstrated experience as a geophysicist.QINSy, Qimera, NaviSuite, CARIS, QPS, HYPACK, SonarWiz, autoCAD/autoCHART or GIS applications.Problem solving attitude.Hands-on / Willing to go offshore for troubleshooting if necessary.What’s in for you?Tecnoambiente has over 150 employees and is backed by a strong group.
