Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automotive Test Engineer to join our powertrain team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, executing and analysing tests for trucks and buses, including aerodynamics and acceleration performance.
This role requires a deep understanding of heavy-duty automotive systems and regulations, a rigorous approach to testing, and a passion for ensuring top-notch quality and performance.
Key responsibilities Supervise Test Vehicle Instrumentation Oversee the precise installation of sensors and the configuration of data acquisition devices on test vehicles, ensuring accurate and reliable data collection.
Execute Test Programs.
Direct and manage test programs in alignment with project specifications, with a specific focus on air drag tests as per EU Regulation , ensuring thorough compliance and accurate results.
Analyse Test Data.
Perform detailed analysis of test data with a specialized emphasis on aerodynamic performance.
Prepare and present comprehensive reports to derive actionable insights for project development and improvement.
Develop and Improve Testing Processes.
Evaluate and refine existing testing procedures and methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.
Propose and implement innovative ideas to expand and elevate heavy-duty testing services.
Support Sales Process.
Collaborate closely with the product manager to provide expert support in drafting technical proposals and quotations, contributing to successful sales outcomes and customer satisfaction.
Contribute to R&D Projects.
Engage in research and development projects to explore and establish new services and capabilities.
Contribute to the continuous enhancement and innovation of internal processes and testing methodologies.
Qualifications Profile Demonstrated experience of 1 to 3 years in vehicle testing, with a strong preference for expertise in powertrain or homologation.
Experience in measurement technology and data acquisition systems.
Familiarity with CAN communication equipment is an asset.
Genuine enthusiasm for measurement data analysis, spanning from initial post-processing to the meticulous reporting of final results.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey findings and insights to customers.
Dynamic, proactive, and self-motivated attitude, coupled with a willingness to engage in global projects as required.
Education Possession of an Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive or Mechatronics B driving license is mandatory.
Additional licenses will be regarded as an asset.
Languages Fluent in English and Spanish is mandatory.
Other languages such as German, French, Italian… is considered advantageous.
