You will be supporting the interconnection of utility scale solar & storage projects. Position Overview: Diverxia Infrastructure USA has an immediate opening for an experienced Interconnection Engineering to support our Project Development Team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience and an understanding of interconnection processes, grid infrastructure, and Solar/Wind/BESS projects modeling within PJM, MISO, ERCOT and/or SPP markets. The primary focus will be the lead to support transmission and distribution capacity & costs analysis to locate new projects, as well as to keep track of those costs for existing projects, leading the relationships with utilities/ISOs. Duties include, but not limited to: Grid studies: Collect base files from the ISOs, perform simulations in PSSE or use other tools to analyze the available capacity, evaluate the ISOs' future planning according to the projected years, estimate interconnection cost.Prospecting activities: Perform feasibility/screening analysis to determine suitable areas and POIs.Prepare, submit, manage, and track utility interconnection applications.Build relationships with utilities to expedite the interconnection process, negotiate with utilities on interconnection decisions and look for improvements on IX Costs.Work with internal teams on technical and financial decisions for interconnections.Perform competitive analysis and manage vendor interactions. Act as the Main point of contact with AHJ’s for all interconnection related items.Daily activities focused on project support, strategic research, and analysis on technical and/or policy related topics. Attention to detail and thoroughness are critical for being successful in this position. QualificationsEngineering degree required; Electrical Engineering degree preferred Minimum 2-5 years of experience working with a utility/developer or IPP supporting project development within the United States is required (MISO, PJM, ERCOT or SPP)Strong engineering, analytical, and quantitative skills PSSE / PSCAD modellingKnowledge of utility infrastructure (including transmission and substation engineering) is strongly desired Understand solar and storage project electrical components, including batteries, balance of systems, inverters and transformers Understand solar and storage project single line diagrams and layouts Understand utility infrastructure and interconnection processeS.Understand technical aspects of utility interconnection materials.Understand implications of Project Development and Project Engineering on interconnection aspects.Understand state policy, and tariff implications on interconnection applications.
