Because why not do it all?What To ExpectGates Power Transmission Spain is situated in Balsareny, approximately 40 minutes away from Barcelona. With a rich history spanning over 30 years, our facility specializes in the production of belts, contributing to a yearly output of over 15 million belt units. The majority of our production caters for the Automotive Aftermarket and Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers sector (called internally Automotive First Fit or AFF), while about 5% will serve the industrial market.Working full-time from Gates P.T. Spain, you will be hired as a Lab Technician & Product Engineer Junior. In this position, you willWork closely with the R&D team to support innovation and product testing initiatives.Prepare detailed analysis of belt performance and prepare reports tailored to the needs of AFF customers. Ensure accurate and timely release of these reports, maintaining quality standards.Actively support dynamic laboratory testing activities, helping to evaluate and validate product performance.Key Responsibilities (on Top Of The Above)Perform rigorous testing on raw materials, processed materials, and belts to evaluate properties, performance, and adherence to standards.Record all test results and relevant observations in the system with precision.Utilize analytical tools to interpret the data, generating insights to guide decisions and improvements.Work closely with the R&D team to develop innovative products targeting various markets.Provide feedback from lab tests to influence product design and material selection.Participate in profit improvement programs by helping optimize materials and processes for cost efficiency.Support the transition of new products from development to production, ensuring processes are efficient and scalable.About YouBachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, materials, or related field preferred).Entry-level candidates with demonstrated engineering skills will also be considered.At least 2 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing setting, with a focus on materials or product testing and analysis.Strong understanding of engineering principles related to materials, mechanics, and product testing.Expertise in laboratory analyses and data interpretation.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Skilled in using statistical tools like Minitab. Experience with design software such as SolidWorks and CAD tools.Strong interpersonal and communication abilities for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.Fluent in English, Spanish, and Catalan.Willingness to travel within the EMEA region to support various projects.WHY GATES?Founded in 1911 in Denver, Colorado, Gates is publicly traded on the NYSE.
