We are searching for the best talent for Legal Manager Innovative Medicine to be in Mexico City The Legal Manager, will be part of a team providing dedicated support as part of Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Legal Team (J&J), providing effective and efficient Legal Advise to the operational team, will be in charge of legal matters for all the therapeutic areas, and will provide strategic and operational day-to-day legal counsel and advice, and across a wide range of proposed business initiatives and projects in areas such as sales and marketing, tenders, regulatory affairs, contracts, ethics and compliance, litigation, privacy, and intellectual property.
The attorney will be supported by a secondment resource based in México.
In general terms, the Legal Manager will be accountable for driving the strategy & legal support, collaboration, consistency and simplification across processes within México, serving as the trusted legal advisor to the operational team, offering advice, analysis and evolving legal risk & opportunities across México.
Becoming an active advisor on a broad range of corporate and operational matters including Identify best practices and support strategic initiatives while collaborating with other functional and/or commercial areas.
Be responsible for managing the contract processes and the everyday agreements, and keeping the various contract templates up to date.
The types of contracts could include (but are not limited to.
consulting agreements, market research and outcomes research agreements, confidentiality agreements, HCC related agreements, and other general agreements within the Commercial and/or Corporate functions.
Engaging with the business and other global functions to ensure compliance by aiding in the continued development, monitoring and adjustment of appropriate compliance and disciplinary procedures and frameworks.
Partner with other members of the Law Department, the broader Procurement community, Finance, Health Care Compliance, Global Clinical Operations and internal business partners, at the operational level, as appropriate, in continued efforts to streamline contract related processes as well as integrate templates in an effort to improve turnaround times to a growing client base.
Aligning with key stakeholders on legal priorities, training and educational needs and consistent compliance efforts and ensuring that appropriate training is provided to local teams on key legal topics, such as essentials of competition law, sanctions and anti-boycott laws, anti-corruption laws and public procurement.
Monitoring and analyzing critical new legislation and regulations that may impact the business or its reputation in México.
Be Liaison with HCC in compliance matters and Procurement, both in a daily basis and performing investigations and audits.
Partner with the IP Group at Corporate to manage our IP portfolio for the Innovative Medicine Business in México ensuring close connection with the business in terms of our IP Protection Framework, including Data Protection Strategy and IP Litigation.
Partner with other members of the Legal Organization in México and across Latin America region to develop and optimize systems and processes.
Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Law School.
License to practice law.
More than 7 years of experience in legal practice.
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is recommended.
Experience as a Corporate Lawyer is a plus.
Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish.
Experience drafting, negotiating and reviewing complex agreements is highly desired.
Ability to lead project teams across multiple business units and functions.
Proven track record interacting with company executives and ability to influence them, as well as other levels within an organization is required.
Broad business experience and a proven ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization, negotiate and influence business decisions, and work towards solutions to drive compliant growth.
