We are working with a trading house seeking a highly skilled and motivated Market Risk Analyst to join their team in the oil and gas sector. This role will be based in Spain, offering an exciting opportunity to support our risk management function in navigating the complexities of the oil and gas markets.As a Market Risk Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing market trends, identifying potential risks, and providing recommendations to support strategic decision-making. You will work closely with various internal teams, including trading, finance, and operations, to monitor and assess market conditions and their potential impacts on our portfolio.Market Risk Analysis: Analyze and evaluate market trends, economic factors, and geopolitical events that impact oil and gas prices, supply chains, and overall market stability.Risk Monitoring: Regularly monitor and report on market risks including price volatility, commodity fluctuations, and supply/demand imbalances.Risk Models: Develop and enhance quantitative models to assess market risk exposure and volatility, and provide scenario analysis for different market conditions.Data Analysis: Gather and analyze large datasets, utilizing statistical methods and financial models to forecast market movements and assess risk.Reporting: Prepare and present detailed risk reports to senior management, highlighting potential risks, opportunities, and mitigating strategies.Strategic Recommendations: Provide actionable insights and recommendations to trading, finance, and senior leadership teams on mitigating risks and optimizing market opportunities.Compliance & Regulation: Stay up to date on industry regulations and ensure compliance with local and international risk management standards.Collaboration: Collaborate with trading teams to monitor market positions and ensure that risk exposure remains within defined limits.Market Trends Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of market outlooks and pricing forecasts based on global oil and gas supply/demand dynamics.
