Nuestro cliente, una empresa multinacional del sector farmacéutico, busca incorporar un Medical Science Liaison basado en Barcelona.Job Description:The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a Medical Affairs professional who serves as a key field-based scientific partner to healthcare providers and decision-makers, medical professional associations, and internal colleagues in the territory Iberia. He/she engages in peer-to-peer scientific exchanges relative to the assigned asset and Immunology therapeutic area (rheumatology) in Eastern Area of Spain, throughout the product’s life-cycle and gathers/shares crucial insights which can inform business strategies and product development. This professional will be responsible for collecting actionable insights from the market in the assigned therapeutic area, identify clinical/educational opportunities for the organization, implementing key medical strategies to enhance and positively impact patient care, access and outcomes. The MSL reports to the Field Medical Lead and is the local medical representative/scientific expert of a field cross-functional team and will be preferable located in Barcelona.Key responsabilities:Customer Engagement:• Develop/manage customers including customer identification, effective customer engagement, and efficient territory management:Scientific discussions with external experts in the context of sharing new and relevant data, advisory boards, congresses, medical education, speaker trainings or publications.Manages territory effectively with a minimum of 70-80% of time focused on customer interactions (area dependent).Strong customer engagement through collecting/sharing of customer insights, tailoring of scientific proposal to customer needs and alignment of scientific partnership for delivery of value for the customer and the patients/caregivers.Collects, analyzes, and communicates information concerning therapeutic area, treatment options, emerging standards of care, and competitive intelligence.Develops and maintain individual Medical Engagement Plans for key customers in line with Area Medical objectives.• Maximize site performance and support clinical trials, non-interventional and other RWE studies through the collection and communication of medical and scientific knowledge:Help with study management and enrollment in collaboration and agreement with Clinical study team and routinely gather and share Medical Insights.Facilitate the process of unsolicited Investigator-Initiated Studies (IISs), serving as the main contact person between the company and the investigator from the investigator request to the publication.Maintains a comprehensive understanding of investigators/sites capabilities and motivators to ensure recommendation of qualified sitesSupport market access from a scientific perspective through scientific exchanges with payors, hospital pharmacists and others.Functional Expertise:•  Maintain and leverages strong and up to date therapeutic expertise (scientific, clinical, disease states, and treatment alternatives knowledge within the therapeutic area(s)) to, in the context of patient’s journey, support tactical execution of territory plan in line with key company medical strategies.•  Demonstrates medical leadership by contributing to key medical and scientific events, advisory boards, and RWE generation.Cross-functional collaboration:•  Contributes and communicates cross-functionally with field level counterparts from sales and market access to transform customer insights into actions to deliver superior and sustainable customer value and impact.•  Contributes and shares accountability on creation and implementation of the territory medical and cross-functional plans.•  Understands and engages with a wide range of stakeholders; proactively collaborates and networks with internal partners regionally and shares insights/best practices across the team.•  Provision of scientific updates to their peers.•  Ensure completion of ORBIT related documentation/reporting duties, planning duties and timely reporting of insights in line with guidance communicated by Area Field Medical Lead.Compliance:•  Operates according to the company standards (policy, processes, guidance) and local regulation (regulatory, pharma codes…)•  Apply the highest level of professional standards:  Adhere to compliant behavior demonstrated by embracing ethical decision-making practices and guidelines in all aspects of the job. •  Addresses medical information inquiries and reports safety relevant information in a high quality and timely manner according to the company processes and requirements.Education & requirements:•  Master's Degree.•  Superior scientific profile preferred (PhD in Life Sciences, MD, PharmD).•  3+ years of MSL experience strongly preferred.•  Relevant therapeutic and clinical experience is a plus.•  Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare area.•  Customer service and patient oriented attitude.•  Demonstrated leadership skills in managing own territory.•  Demonstrated negotiation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.•  Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to network and to work as part of a cross-functional team.•  Effective communication and presentation skills including mastery of English language.•  Ability to clearly articulate complex scientific and clinical data in 1:1 and group settings.•  Ability to take initiative and work both independently and in a team environment.•  Strong multi-tasking, time management, and organizational skills.•  Ability to effectively balance field time and administrative duties.• Understands and uses technical devices and digital media to support access and interactions.• Scientific Acumen and ability to translate scientific and clinical data into value proposition for the different stakeholders.•  Performance oriented Business Acumen and Focus on delivering customer value and impact.• Demonstrated ability in applying Medical governance and respecting compliance related rules and regulations.
