OC/EFSA/PREV/ funded by European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
A full-time contract (37,5 hours/week) is offered with planned incorporation in January,15th , with a duration of 12 months that could be extended up to mid-year more if budget allows.
The annual gross salary offer is € per year.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES.
Pollen consumption in solitary bees.
The incumbent will conduct laboratory, semi-field and field experiments to quantify pollen consumption by solitary bee adults and larvae.
Natural enemy – pest interactions.
The incumbent will conduct field surveys and laboratory molecular analyses to quantify diet composition of selected predators in apple orchards.
Pollen preferences by solitary bees.
The incumbent will conduct olfactometry experiments in the laboratory to establish pollen preferences by selected bee species.
Identification of transcriptomic biomarkers induced by nutrition quality.
Manuscript writing.
The incumbent is expected to take the lead in the writing of 1-2 manuscripts by the end of the contract.
REQUIREMENTS.
PhD in Entomology, Insect Ecology or similar.
Experience in insect nutritional biology.
Experience in laboratory experiments with insects.
Experience in insect dissection.
Experience in orchard pests and their natural enemies.
Experience in molecular biology.
Ability to write manuscripts in English.
Driver’s licence.
ASSESSABLE CONDITIONS.
