Our offices are located in the Palacio Miramar, one of the best locations in town.About the positionWomen Tech EU is a 2-years Horizon Europe (HE) project led by EIT Manufacturing West. The initiative offers first-class coaching and mentoring to female founders, as well as targeted funding to help take their business to the next level. The project has started on the 1st of February 2024.The Project Management Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring financial transparency, accountability, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Their expertise and diligence will contribute to the successful implementation of WomenTechEU and the achievement of project objectives.This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and empowerment of women entrepreneurs in Europe.Missions and key Accountabilities:• Budget management: This includes building up detailed project budgets, establishing methods for continuous monitoring of expenditures of all partners and under all Work Packages, early identification of underspending or overspending to initiate corrective actions as needed (including preparation of documentation for contract amendments if needed).• Cascade funds management: Support to guarantee efficient and effective financial support to third parties that participate in the action as recipients. This includes supporting the Project Manager in the entire process from call elaboration and selection of beneficiaries to the actual distribution of EU funds.• Report the action implementation in accordance with the HE rules: This includes preparing EIT M’s financial statement and obtaining the Certificate on the Financial Statement (CFS) with the support of the Office manager, gathering the financial statements of all partners (and CFS when needed), as well as contributions to the Technical Report from all Work Package Leaders/partners. Ensure that the reports are submitted on time and that they are accurate and complete. Offer reporting advice to all partners: eligible/ineligible costs, direct and indirect costs, budget items, budget flexibility, etc.• Procurement and purchase management: in compliance with EIT M West procurement policy and EU rules: elaboration of vendor contracts, monitoring contract performance to address any issues that may arise, keep records of all procurement processes, liaise with the Office Manager for invoicing.• The Officer will contribute to bid preparations in collaboration with EIT Manufacturing West External Program Manager.• The Officer will report directly to EIT Manufacturing WomenTechEU Lead, Teresa Hernández Martín.Requirements:Education:• bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.• Master's degree in business administration (MBA) or a related field is a plus.• Financial or accounting professional certification is a plus.Experience:• 2+ years of experience in financial reporting and accounting.• 1+ years of experience with EU funding regulations. Knowledge in Horizon Europe program (or former EU RTD Framework Programmes) is a must.• Cascade funding management experience is a plus.• International and multi-cultural teams experience is a plus.• Good command of IT tools (MS Office, Web collaborative tools…)• Fluent in English.
