Project Manager (Battery Energy Storage Systems)Location: London (UK) /Madrid (Spain)Type: Full-timeOur client is seeking a seasoned and highly motivated Project Manager to join their growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of utility-scale BESS projects, from pre-sales through post-sales phases. There is a choice to be in the London or Madrid office. ResponsibilitiesEnd-to-End Project Management: Lead and manage the entire project lifecycle of a utility-scale BESS project, from planning and initiation to execution, monitoring, and closure. Ensure that all project objectives are met according to the agreed specifications and timelines.Pre-Sales and Planning: Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to develop project proposals, cost estimates, and schedules. Assist in the preparation of technical and commercial proposals to support business development efforts.Execution and Coordination: Coordinate with various internal functions such as engineering, procurement, construction, and quality assurance to ensure seamless project execution. Allocate resources effectively and manage project tasks and milestones to maintain project schedules and budgets.Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and managing expectations. Foster strong relationships with all project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.Risk and Issue Management: Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans as needed. Ensure timely resolution of project challenges to minimize impact on project delivery.Quality Assurance: Ensure all project activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Oversee quality control processes and ensure the delivery of high-quality outcomes at every stage of the project.Post-Sales Support: Oversee the commissioning, testing, and handover phases, ensuring smooth transition to operations and maintenance teams. Provide ongoing support during the warranty period and manage any post-sales activities, including maintenance services.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation and provide regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders. Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring that projects remain on track.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are preferred.A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, specifically within the renewable energy sector.Proven experience managing the full lifecycle of utility-scale BESS projects, from pre-sales through post-sales, including commissioning and operational support.Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coordinate and motivate cross-functional teams.Strong problem-solving abilities, interpersonal skills and complex stakeholder management skills.Experience in managing project budgets, schedules, and resources to deliver successful project outcomes.Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices in renewable energy and BESS.To ensure quicker response, please include your project portfolio in your submitted CV.
