QUALITY LAB TECHNICIAN

Por qué te necesitamos? PRIMARY OBJECTIVE.
The Quality Assurance Lab Technician is responsible for the completion of testing inspection, and dimensional analysis.
This position requires the Technician to be able to analyze and interpret data and test results after product/process inspections on the shipping dock, the production floor, and in a lab environment as well as effectively manage files and software in an office environment.
Adherence to all company safety policies and precautions while performing assigned tasks and al all times when on the premises.
This position will report to the Quality Manager.
NATURE & SCOPE OF POSITION.
The incumbent works in an environment where he/she will interact with other employees and direct quality vendor contacts.
Must maintain a positive working attitude toward other employees and be a team player.
Must work with others constructively and abide by company policies and procedures.
Working together as a team for continuous improvement is vital to ensure the future of CertainTeed and its employees.
Teamwork will be required to be effective in daily production assignments as well as special improvement and continuous improvement projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS.
Assist the Quality Manager in ensuring all products, processes, and procedures are in compliance with established ISO policies and specifications.
Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and all other ongoing laboratory testing to ensure all raw materials and finished products are within specification.
Conduct and assist in all other testing including trial runs and Six Sigma quality-related projects.
Identify quality lab-related problems and deficiencies and troubleshoot quick responses to minimize downtime.
Calibration of lab equipment.
Assist in 5S activities within the lab Conduct quality checks throughout each process.
Accurately measure using laboratory quality tools.

Active participant in key Quality Pillar projects and initiatives Reports daily to Quality Manager.
raw material and product quality trends and assist in root cause analysis.
Report all EH&S incidents – Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage.
Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling Responsibilities.
Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS.
The office setting is temperature-controlled.
The manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas.
Manufacturing processes involve granules, sand, fiberglass, asphalt coating, crushed rock, and polypropylene.
Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site.
Moving equipment such as forklifts, buggies, genie booms, and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas.

High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate's degree preferred.
At least 2 years of manufacturing experience is required, with 2 to 3 years quality experience preferred.
Demonstrate ownership skills.
Excellent problem-solving, creative thinking, and communication skills.
Ability to work on your own and in a team environment.
Experience with computer systems and Windows applications (i.
.
WORD, Outlook, and Excel).
Strong attention to detail.
Strong decision-making and good judgment to keep production lines moving.
Must be able to multi-task.
Ability to complete tasks as necessary in an independent, timely manner without close supervision.
Commitment to succeeding and ensuring the job is done with high quality.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS.
Ability to work an average of 40 hours per week as well as necessary overtime, speak clearly so others understand, vision acuity for this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Acceptance of criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations, sensitivity to other’s needs, positive demeanor, and model change management for the business.
Ability to lift 65 pounds on a continual basis and regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds without assistance.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee frequently is required to walk.
The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
