Summary / Role PurposeAnsys is looking for an R&D Engineer to contribute to the development of backend components and web frontends in the area of Mechanical simulation software. In this role, the R&D Engineer will participate in the design, implementation, testing and maintenance of next-generation applications for the management and calibration of material models.Key Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerforms moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systemsUnderstands and employs best practicesPerforms moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutionsUnderstands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issuesWorks under the general supervision of a development managerMinimum Education/Certification Requirements And ExperienceMS in Engineering, Computer Science or Natural ScienceAcademic, research or industry experience in software developmentGood knowledge and experience programing with Python, familiarity with C++.Experience in any of the following: Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), CAD modelingPassion for understanding complex problems and crafting innovative technical solutionsAn inquisitive and rigorous mindsetPreferred Qualifications And SkillsUnderstanding of graphical user interfaces and visualizationExperience developing web applications with frameworks such as Angular or ReactExperience with cloud/distributed computing technologies like micro-service architectures, RPC frameworks and APIs (gRPC, REST, WebSocket)Familiarity with mechanical simulations and material modelingGood communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed teamAt Ansys, we know that changing the world takes vision, skill, and each other.
