REGULATORY ENGINEER

In Sateliot we are looking for a Regulatory Engineer, willing to face the challenges of a fast-growing space telecom startup!Ready to be part of the challenge?Who we areSateliot is a Barcelona-based Startup in the New Space sector, becoming the first satellite telecommunications operator that will provide global and continuous connectivity to all the elements that will make up the massive Internet of Things (IoT) universe under the 5G protocol.In order to do so, Sateliot is launching a constellation of last generation nanosatellites, located at low altitude that act as mobile towers. Sateliot is the perfect complement for large telecommunications companies by providing them with the necessary infrastructure where terrestrial technologies do not arrive. Your missionYour mission will be to contribute in ensuring Sateliot’s projects take account of spectrum’s regulatory, technical and operational constraints as well as participating in the licensing processes for Sateliot’s constellation at an international level. You will work closely with the regulatory team as well as with the technical team to align plans, design spectrum management strategies, spectrum engineering, support in licensing activities, coordinate existing filings as well as contribute to the regulatory advocacy strategy of the company. You will liaise between different teams in the company (commercial, technical and regulatory) to provide guidance on regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with the applicable regulation. Your main functionsSpectrum Management-Participate in the frequency coordination of Sateliot’s ITU filings (including negotiation with 3rd party satellite operators/administrations).-Conduct technical studies on frequency compatibility and interference analysis.Licensing-Contributing to the preparation of international spectrum licenses for Sateliot-Engage with other Sateliot’s departments to align objectives on the aboveRegulatory Engineering-Create spectrum/frequency related assessments to Sateliot’s projects (including the creation of new ITU filings)Regulatory Advocacy and Policy-Participate in regional and international regulatory forums (ITU, CITEL, CEPT,..) and engage on spectrum matters, including the preparation of contributions and their presentation in public.-Assist in drafting contributions to open regulatory consultations (at any level).RequirementsIf you have a BSc degree in Electrical/Telecommunication/Computer Engineering or similar, and minimum 3 years of proven experience supporting regulatory, compliance or communication system licensing, then this is your opportunity! Master’s degrees and PhD/Doctorates are a huge plus.We expect you to have direct experience in spectrum management as well as spectrum licensing for space systems. We are looking for a great communicator able to interact with different teams (Product, technical, commercial…), who is proactive and independent, knows how to manage time and pay attention to details. Demonstrable fluency in English is a must! Excellent analytical and organizational skills are required, as well as resolutive skills to develop solutions for technical issues. Preferred skills and experiencePrior experience with satellite communications or other services that require interaction with government regulators.Experience dealing with international regulatory requirements.Knowledge of satellite communications (link budget, antenna design, interference analysis).Knowledge on ITU Radio Regulations.
