Pablo Ranea-Robles at the Biomedical Research Center (University of Granada).
Project.
Our lab is interested in understanding how peroxisomes contribute to metabolic homeostasis.
We are past the time when only a secondary role was assigned to peroxisomes.
There’s strong evidence suggesting a crucial role for these organelles in metabolic health, but their exact function remains largely unexplored.
To address this, we use a variety of techniques involving cell (in vitro) and mouse (in vivo) experiments, manipulating peroxisomal function to study its impact on metabolic homeostasis.
Our work involves molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, and physiology.
The lab has strong local, national, and international collaborations, offering excellent networking opportunities.
Contract.
Indefinite (37.
hours/week), funded by ongoing research projects.
The first 6 months are a probationary period as per University of Granada regulations.

Salary.
Competitive based on qualifications (FP or Bachelor’s degree) and in accordance with UGR regulations.

Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Vocational Training in a bioscience field (e.
., laboratory technician, anatomy-pathology technician, biology, biomedicine, human biology, pharmacy, biochemistry, biotechnology, nutrition).
Valued Skills.
Experience with basic molecular biology and cell culture techniques Experience with laboratory management (reagent preparation, purchasing, administrative tasks) Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) Strong motivation for research and ability to work in a team Willingness to work with mice.
FELASA certification for working with rodents is a significant plus.
Interest in pursuing a PhD through competitive predoctoral fellowships (e.
