What’s the Job? The Shift Manager supports the management team and reports to the Operations Manager.
The successful candidate leads and drives the manufacturing initiatives of leads, operators, and other production personnel to support the manufacturing improvement process and production control systems.
The essential activities include, but are not limited to, safety performance, quality, training, continuous improvement, and productivity.
This position must assure good housekeeping practices following 5S systems, enforce plant rules and safety regulations as well as all company policies including but not limited to all PPE, permits, JSAs, purchasing requirements and follow all safe work practices.
Directly supervise an hourly workforce of employees in compliance with all applicable laws and policies, communicate performance expectations, hold employees accountable to those expectations, and coach and develop employee capabilities.
Identify opportunities and implement corrective actions to improve safety, quality, productivity, labor and spending performance, through development of teams, tracking performance, data interpretation and other problem-solving tools.

Complete daily production and material usage reports.
Update and maintain time and attendance and payroll data and administer coaching, training, group expectations or discipline as needed.
Ensures employees have received appropriate safety training and conform to all safety policies, rules and regulations, challenging behavior as it relates to working unsafely.
Ensures all quality specifications are met and maintained.
Address production-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Investigate and analyze root causes of production problems and assist in implementing corrective actions.
Proactively challenge the performance of current systems and processes; identifies risks and help develop solutions and/or processes and ensures necessary for risk mitigation steps.
May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
¿Es este trabajo para ti? What do you bring? Bachelor of Science degree in technical field is required, or equivalent of industry work experience.
Minimum of 3 years of management/supervisory experience in a industrial setting or 5 plus years of fiberglass manufacturing experience.
Strong communication, leadership, coaching and interpersonal skills, and team building skills, along with the ability to facilitate action plans.
Strong troubleshooting skills to help fix problems quickly to keep production running.
Flexibility to adapt to changes in production schedules or unexpected challenges.
Capacity to make informed decisions based on data and critical thinking and make timely decisions to keep production processes running smoothly.
Current computer skills, both in PC and control systems, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint required.
