His/her mission is to develop and optimize structural components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards while meeting the design requirements.Main Responsibilities/ChallengesTake responsibility for defining, integrating, verifying and certifying the architecture and specifications of structures and mechanisms within the Engineering department, from the conceptual phase through to certification and the in-service phase. Ensure that the applicable type certification basis, OSD certification basis, environmental protection requirements and customers' needs requirements are allocated, analysed and interpreted for the systems and disciplines within their department. Perform design trades, comprehensive analysis and evaluation to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of existing and proposed systems, with a particular focus on their maturation and implementation capabilities. Identifies areas for improvement and develops innovative solutions to optimise aircraft system performance. Provide end-to-end supplier support throughout the development cycle by preparing SOWs and product or system specifications, selecting, evaluating and monitoring suppliers. Collaborate with the engineering team to develop structural components and assemblies in accordance with the defined certification basis. This includes preparing compliance design documentation and supporting technical publications (e.g., AFM, AMM).Prepare technical documents like design definition documents, compliance demonstration documents, programmes, operating instructions, manuals; and filing test data. Confirms by signature that the documents prepared have been prepared and completed in accordance with best engineering practice, with the greatest care and to the best of their knowledge of all facts affecting their contents. Support the laboratory, ground and flight test campaign for Certification and Qualification process, coordinating those required for the validation and verification of the proper systems performances. Prepare the test analysis and correlation reports for compliance demonstration. Support feasibility studies, participating in research and development projects to explore new technologies and techniques in the field of structural design. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to drive innovation and continuously improve aircraft safety and efficiency. Support the continued airworthiness of structural components and assemblies during the product life cycle, including support for event analysis.Estimate time, scope and resource requirements for technical activities. Project configuration management and communication to other departments. Support the rest of the departments of the company with the duties related to their disciplines or systems Support the Production Organisation in the resolution of failures and deviations.
