Systems Administrator (Part-Time/Freelance)FOSSA Systems is a leading Spanish space engineering and telecommunications company with 30 employees specializing in the development and deployment of IoT satellite solutions for remote asset management.What do we do?FOSSA Systems has vertically integrated the satellite manufacturing process, encompassing space operations and ground segment services. With a production and operations hub in Madrid and an R&D centre in Lisbon, we manage a global satellite network and satellite control stations. Utilizing advanced miniaturization and mass production techniques, FOSSA has already launched 20 satellites into space and is deploying an extensive satellite constellation at a fraction of the traditional cost, allowing faster innovation and competitive technology solutions.Who are we looking for?We are currently seeking a skilled and multidisciplinary Systems Administrator to oversee and support our IT infrastructure and cybersecurity initiatives. As a Systems Administrator in a startup environment, you'll be the backbone of the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring that all systems are running smoothly, securely, and efficiently. This role demands a versatile and proactive individual who is comfortable wearing many hats.The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional capable of ensuring FOSSA’s digital environment remains robust, secure, and aligned with industry standards.Responsibilities:Manage, deploy and maintain enterprise employee systems (laptops, mobile systems etc)Manage, deploy and maintain enterprise networks (firewalls, switches, servers, routers) to ensure secure and robust network traffic.Oversee enterprise health and monitor for potential threats or vulnerabilities.Implement and ensure compliance with cybersecurity and data protection protocols (IS27001, NIS2 etc)Deploy and Manage Internal software, storage and network tools (M365 suite, VPN Clients, MDM systems etc).Asset and Inventory Management: Track, maintain, and update hardware and software assets. This includes managing licenses and keeping systems up to date to ensure compliance and prevent disruptions.Provide technical support to employees and conduct training sessions, create employee guidelines.Profile:1 to 3 years’ experience in Systems Administration or IT Support role, focusing on network security and asset management.Familiarity with Windows, Linux and Scripting for task automation (Bash, PowerShell).Experience with network management, firewall configuration, VPNs.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Full professional proficiency in English.Preferably:Certification or demonstrable knowledge of ISO 27001 or ENS.Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).Interest in the space and satellite industry.Why FOSSA?At FOSSA, we are committed to fostering a collaborative environment with flexible working arrangements.
