TECHNICAL LEAD - SITE RELIABILITY ENGINEER _VOIS

Role purpose.
To support Vodafone’s key strategic growth areas in IoT, Vodafone Group Business Technology requires a highly capable and experienced Site Reliability Engineers to increase the IoT platforms reliability and performance.
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible of IoT platforms stability, continuity and operational improvement.
You will deliver IoT applications, services, features, modules and take the lead in deploying, reviewing and troubleshooting of technical integration interfaces with various technology platforms & devices.
You will be focusing on driving high reliability into systems by working closely with development, engineering, and product Architect teams.
You will be responsible of creating software that improves the reliability of systems in production, fixing issues, responding to incidents and problems.
You will work along the Dev/engineering teams in a DevOps model, sharing a common vision and objectives, bringing operative concerns early in the lifecycle.
You will be operating in an agile environment, challenging architectures, reviewing HLDs & LLDs, aware of new product features and actively contribute to the Product backlog in the form of “Operations by Design” requirements.

•    Experience in development & programming background •    A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks •    Leadership & coaching skills Language requirements.
•    English (B2 or above) Any other non-native language is an advantage.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership.
•    Always consider and implement different aspects of continuous integration & deployment to ensure high level of Ops automation •    Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures •    Act as technical SME within the team and coach other team members to grow their knowledge in relevant technologies •    Support the team members to solve complex incidents and problems.
•    Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning •    Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts •    Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives •    Continuously enhancing our monitoring and alerting to prevent incidents.
•    Run the production environment by proactive monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health •    Design, implement, and maintain monitoring strategies and tools for our important metrics •    Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications to achieve Zero Touch Operations.
•    Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of IoT suite of software solutions •    Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve •    To support and deploy software packages as per Release commitments and ensuring smooth transition to production •    Responsible for Incident management to fix, diagnose and resolve software problems quickly and efficiently as per agreed SLAs.
•    Responsible for Problem management to identify and manage RCA of incidents and implement preventive actions.
•    Communicate and manage different stakeholders and vendors’ interfaces.
•    Consistent knowledge and documentation sharing among the team.
Must have technical / professional qualifications.
•    5+ years of proven hands-on experience in integrating and supporting  end-to-end enterprise solutions.
•    Proven ability to analyse high-level (HLD) & low level technical (LLD) software architecture and translate them into Operation requirements.
•    Expert level in Unix/Linux administration and hands-on experience with shell scripting.
•    Strong experience in CI/CD  tools  & technologies such as Git, Jenkins, Nexus, SonarQube, Salt, etc.
•    Strong experience in IaaC tools such as Terraform, cloud formation, etc.
•    Strong background in infrastructure  deployment, management and operations on public cloud providers (AWS or Azure) •    Ability to program with one or more high level languages, such as Python, Java and JavaScript •    Strong background with containerisation (Docker and kubernetes) •    Strong working experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, centreon..
etc.
•    Familiar with Microservices architecture.
•    Proven hands-on experience with cloud and web services technologies (e.
., WSDL, REST, JSON, XML, SOAP, etc.) •    Hands-on experience with  NoSQL databases, such as  MariaDB, Postgres, Keycloak, Redis, MongoDB, etc.
•    Good understanding of the Mobile network architecture and protocols •    Experience in Thingworx IoT platform is a plus •    Good understanding for ITIL BSc or MSc level degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Telecommunications.
