TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER

Technical Project Manager (Battery Energy Storage Systems)Location: London (UK) / Madrid (Spain)Type: Full-timeOur client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Project Manager to manage utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects. Apply now to be a part of a growing and dynamic team of passionate and smart individuals in renewables!This is a project on-site position and requires relocation to the site (located in different parts of Europe). There is a choice to be in the London or Madrid office. ResponsibilitiesProject Management: Lead and manage utility-scale BESS projects from initiation to closure, ensuring all project objectives are met. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.Technical Expertise: Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure project designs meet technical specifications and regulatory requirements.Pre-Sales Support: Work with the sales and engineering teams to develop technical proposals, cost estimates, and project schedules. Participate in client meetings and presentations to support business development efforts.Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication of project status, risks, and issues. Build and maintain strong relationships with all project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful delivery.Quality Assurance: Oversee quality control processes and ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies. Conduct regular project reviews and audits to ensure project objectives are being met.Post-Sales Support: Provide ongoing technical support and coordination during the commissioning, testing, and handover phases. Ensure all post-sales activities, including warranty and maintenance services, are executed effectively.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices in project management and BESS technologies.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Advanced degrees or certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are a plus.Strong technical background in BESS, including a deep understanding of electrical systems, power electronics, energy management systems, and grid integration.Proven experience in managing the full project lifecycle of BESS projects, from pre-sales through post-sales, including experience in commissioning and operational support.Excellent problem-solving skills, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices in renewable energy and energy storage.To ensure quicker response, please include your project portfolio in your submitted CV.
