ACCOUNT MANAGER / BD UTILITIESLOCATION: Madrid or Barcelona areaREPORTS TO: VAR & End User Sales Manager IberiaThe position is home-based with frequent travel expected throughout Iberia. Full-time position.Our client is a recognised manufacturer known for its expertise in developing innovative electronic access control systems tailored to the needs of industrial and commercial sectors. The company focuses on cutting-edge technologies, with extensive experience in manufacturing locks and security hardware.-- MISSION --The Account Manager/ BD for End User Utilities oversees the comprehensive customer value proposition within the Utilities and critical infrastructure market segment in the Iberia region. This role involves direct engagement with end users and focuses on promoting and selling project-based solutions of value-added services in access control for end users across various sectors:Distribution: Electricity, Gas, WaterResources: Oil and Gas, Power, Solar, WindTelecom: Infrastructure, OperatorsPublic Transportation: Airports, Ports, Railways, Roads-- RESPONSIBILITIES --Proactively identify and pursue new prospects.Build rapport with senior management at both new and existing clients.Maximize business opportunities and develop tailored strategic plans.Cultivate relationships to generate new opportunities.Foster company-wide customer awareness and balance risk with opportunity.Propose innovative solutions and support customers’ digital transformation.Manage complex transactions (RFIs, RFQs, tenders) and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers.Conduct competitive analysis and advise clients on relevant technologies.Coordinate customer training, achieve sales targets, and handle disputes.Maintain sales pipelines, prepare quotations, and manage administrative tasks.Drive customer loyalty through proactive engagement.Attend industry events to expand the customer base.Retain and upsell to existing clients while pursuing new business.Integrate customer feedback to improve offerings and propose improvements as needed.-- REQUIREMENTS --5+ years of experience selling solutions including hardware and software within access control.Previous experience with utility account management, dealing with end users (water, gas, transportation, TELCO, petrochemicals, etc.)Previous experience working closely with project managers.A hunter, with great communication and negotiation skills.Happy to travel extensively in the Iberia region.Ideally located in greater Madrid.Curious, dynamic, honest, adaptable, good listener, with a good team spirit.Native Spanish speaker or bilingual.B2 in English.ExecutiveSurf is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
