The role Utilizing a broad range of industry best-of-breed methods, our AWS DevOps engineers build and operate SoftwareONE's cloud infrastructure & automation platforms, ensuring global standards and architectural principles are applied.

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud Platform Engineering Lead to drive the development, deployment, and operational excellence of our cloud infrastructure, data & AI, and platform services.
This role requires deep expertise in AWS, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD processes, and cloud-native technologies.
You will lead a diverse team of engineers, promoting best practices in cloud development, deployment, and observability while fostering an inclusive culture of innovation and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities Architect, develop, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, and AWS CDK.
Oversee CI/CD pipelines, release management, and deployment automation.
Manage Git workflows, branching strategies, and approval processes.
Lead serverless and core AWS services.
Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3, SQS, SNS, EventBridge.
Implement observability, authentication, and security best practices (IAM, Cognito, OpenID, SAML).
Ensure efficient delivery and deployment processes, managing the infrastructure lifecycle (provisioning, updating, upgrading, and removal).
Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team, ensuring motivation, alignment, and timely delivery within Agile sprints.
Foster best coding practices, enforce development standards, and manage peer reviews while driving continuous skill development.
Oversee resource planning, performance management, and process improvements to enhance team efficiency and collaboration.
What we need to see from you Extensive experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering roles with a focus on AWS.
Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, and AWS CDK.
Deep understanding of CI/CD automation, software development lifecycle, and release management.
Experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and container orchestration would be beneficial.
Knowledge of multi-account AWS architectures and governance frameworks.
Experience motivating and leading small, agile teams to deliver innovative solutions, whilst being hands-on and delivering alongside the team Strong scripting and automation skills in Python and Bash.
Experience leading and mentoring high-performing engineering teams.
Strong understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
