Job Description As a Chassis Design engineer, member of the Chassis Systems Design team of Applus IDIADA, your mission will be being involved in developing suspension components for new vehicles.
Your main responsibilities will be.
Design ownership of Suspension systems/components such as.
Suspension links, shock absorbers, Springs, Knuckles/wheel carriers, Anti-roll bars, subframes, torsional beams.
bushings.
Ensure an appropriate packaging for the components between themselves and for the whole system on vehicle.
Initial definition and change management of the BOM.
Support DFMEA generation.
Support DVP generation.
Ensure DFM & DFA are implemented on the design.
Supplier management.
Support mule and prototype vehicles assembly as required.
Support the definition of the chassis components technical specifications.
Writing technical/scientific documentation and monitoring reports.
Participation in project meetings and in cross-functional design reviews.
Work alongside other technical departments.
Contribute with new proposals for R&D projects.
Qualifications Education University degree.
Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering.
Specialised in Mechanics or in Automotive.
Language Skills Fluent English Other Languages will be asset.
Profile Requirements Previous automotive OEM experience in suspension systems will be an asset (Tier 1 component experience also considered).
Understanding of working principles of chassis systems, especially suspension systems.
Knowledge of main manufacturing techniques and materials used in suspension design (casting, forging.
press, weldings.
CATIA V5 2D/3D skills.
Knowledge and understanding of CAE and simulation tools will be an asset (ADAMS, Patran/Nastran, etc.).
Knowledge of GD&T principles and tolerance analysis.
Good communication skills and confident in discussions at different hierarchical levels.
