To manage bids from qualification through submission until contract signature, both from a bid management and commercial management angle.
To provide process governance and support for the account team in bid and pricing preparation.
Owns and drives the appropriate opportunity governance and manages a virtual project team from a pool of onshore and offshore resources.
To shape the deal, including both bid and commercial strategy and lead commercial decision making in order to maximise chances of winning the business.
To create proposals and commercial propositions for Vodafone's enterprise clients that meets and exceeds the customer's as well as Vodafone's internal business requirements.
To provide pricing activities on single country and/or global business opportunities across the sales organization for mobility and/or fixed products and/or multi-tower bids.
To understand the customer's goals and how multiple scenarios might evolve through the opportunity lifecycle, structure commercial propositions and win themes accordingly.
To ensure alignment across a robust set of internal stakeholders behind the opportunity strategy.
To ensure that bid and pre-sales commercial activities are managed in a timely manner, meeting the company's objectives and mitigating potential risks.
To ensure that commercials are competitive and market sensitive across multiple geographies.
To ensure that quality proposals are built that satisfy both the customer's and Vodafone's requirements and prepare the bid proposal for approval.
To present the proposal and the commercial themes to the customer and to negotiate the best possible outcome both for customer and Vodafone..
What you’ll do.
• Is responsible for the most complex global (multi-country) bids/RFPs.
Pioneers with fully bespoke tailor-made solutions, with extremely limited or no standard elements at all.
Heads the development of complex bid and pricing strategies maximizing win chances, aligned to bespoke customer needs and taking into account the competitive landscape.
Operates in a global environment, effectively uses multi-cultural resources through proper awareness and assertiveness and is able to challenge in a constructive manner.
• Develops negotiation strategies using industry best-practice.
Lead customer negotiations up to C level to achieve the best possible outcomes for Vodafone.
• Heads stakeholder management up to C-Level.
Ensures strong stakeholder alignment across all functions, Vodafone Operating Companies and Partners involved in the bid process.
• Acts as change agent if required, actively contributing to reach the process improvements within and outside of own function.
Identifies process improvement areas and runs improvement projects in a global environment.
Implements the changes necessary for enabling the business to perform to its optimum ability.
• Uses industry best practices and shares them proactively with Commercial Operations community and leadership.
• Maintains a good level of understanding of the telecoms market, IT and economic trends and customer environments and how these factors influence customer buying behaviours to sell business outcomes that differentiate our offers.
• Drives collaboration and alignment to help the teams to capitalize on synergies and connection points that are revealed between various teams and functions.
• Supports the execution of business transformation projects, identifying risks and proactively working with business owners to resolve them in line with digital principles, and to diagnose and remediate execution gaps.
• Constantly challenges and reinvents commercial and operational paradigms, to ensure Vodafone´s offers remain innovative and market leading, whilst driving down costs to Vodafone and our customers.
• Heads full risk management including identification, monetisation, mitigation and associated contingency building to save Vodafone from financial, legal and other business risk all over the bid lifecycle.
• Oversees all areas of the business, helps to implement operational changes and delivers measurable improvements.
• Leads knowledge sharing by example.
Coaches and mentors senior bid and pricing specialist.
• Leads sign-on/ bid qualification meetings involving all functions.
Makes sound decisions based on inputs received.
• Drives commercial strategy, leads deal shaping sessions and pit stops, incorporates outcome into bid strategy and is ultimately responsible to for translating strategy into action.
• Acts as trusted advisor towards leadership.
• Proactively recognizes the clients’ needs and drives recommendations for solutions which bring benefit to the customer as well as Vodafone.
• Understands strategical decisions and able to drive the daily activities accordingly.
• Reviews and validates business cases for the commercial community, has decision making power at sign off governance gates.
• Makes strategic decisions on the opportunities led, able to drive the daily activities of the opportunity team to achieve desired outcomes.
• Has a deep interdisciplinary understanding across processes and products, has the ability to fulfil commercial - and project management tasks as well, even in parallel with each other.

What you’ll bring to the team • experience in commercials, bids & proposals – Telecoms/System Integrator experience preferred • experience in customer facing negotiations • 4+ years strategic project management experience • Certified Prince2 or Agile knowledge • Confident in leading and facilitating complex virtual teams, proven assertive communication skills.
Superb presentations skills in customer facing situations.
• Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills • Proven attention to detail and accuracy of output in a financial environment • Able to work and reprioritise within a changing environment and cope with ambiguity.
• Strong decision making capability.
The ability to balance conflicting priorities and strong, individual personalities.
