DATA CENTER CRITICAL ENVIRONMENT MANAGER

We are seeking a Data Center Critical Environment Manager to join our Spain-Portugal team, working directly with our Data Center Site Managers. This role will be responsible for the development, roll-out and continuous improvement of customers projects, services, and reports.Edged is highly selective about the people we bring on board because our mission depends on it. We offer flexibility and endless growth opportunities to those who can harness their skills and talents and identify how and where to use them to add value.Key Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:Establishing strong working relationships with customersOverseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a datacenterManaging and organizing the planned preventative and corrective electrical and/or mechanical equipment according to customer requirementsEnsuring that electrical, mechanical, and/or fire/life safety equipment within the client data hall are operating at peak efficiencyEnsuring compliance with infrastructure operations standardizationActing as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the datacenter, escalating to the Operations Team as needed. This may include assisting technicians in times of emergencies, job training, and providing input/recommendations on electrical/mechanical design parametersManagement of small-to-medium projects from conception to completionEnsuring routine reporting for critical infrastructure, inclusive of operational and maintenance KPIs, objectives, organizational policies, procedures, and standardsDriving cost/energy efficiency projectsIdentifying single points-of-failure at client infrastructureCoordinating, planning, scheduling, and supervising audits and compliance verificationsDriving identification and remediation of vulnerabilities (such as single points of failure) Provide recommendations on new data center equipment designs, technologies, and construction methods. Drive cost/energy efficiency projectsSharing best practices, assisting others in learning role, process, procedures, and mentors’ othersPromoting a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of datacenter activitiesDriving data analytics, metrics, and interpretation of a complex environment to identify inefficiencies, opportunities, exceptions, and correlations, and proactively respond before they impact the businessEnsuring quality, up-to-date documentation exists for all service arrangementsAchieving consistent customer satisfaction ratings and respond appropriate to customer feedback on areas for improvementDeveloping and providing a training program to support implementation and operations for our clientsImplement and drive a “lessons learned” approachSkills & RequirementsEducation / ExperienceProblem-solving aptitude and advanced knowledge of lean operational methodologies to distill operational data, develop an intentional data-driven strategy, and drive resulting global impactExperience mentoring and leading project management professionals is desired but not requiredBS or BA in a technical field, or commensurate experience5 years of leadership experience, preferably in a mature engineering or operations environmentExperience in large-scale planning and coordination, with experiencing delivering multiple concurrent projects on tight timelinesA solid understanding of enterprise level infrastructure is desiredHave excellent customer management skillsITIL certification is a plusKnowledge of critical environment concepts and infrastructure (e.g. Electrical Distribution, Mechanical Cooling Systems, etc.)A solid understanding of financial management, budgeting, and forecastingProject or program management experience and certification(s) (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, PMI, Agile, etc.)Specific Skills / AbilitiesStrong written and oral communication skillsProcess and workflow developmentExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsExperience or ability working in an international environmentGood problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to manage multi-projects around Iberian PeninsulaLogical, considered a professional, with an ability to work collaboratively with a varied stakeholder groupPassionate about what you do and committed to excellenceDetail oriented and diligentEntrepreneurial by nature with a strong sense of ownershipProcess minded with a strong cost focusResults oriented and prepared to take ownership of outcomesSupport the success of other people and their businesses above your ownFluent in EnglishExcellent external radar, keen to picking up on trendsGreat Place to Work Enjoy… A fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture focused on innovation.A flexible, autonomous work environment.A culture of respect, learning, and excellence.Experienced, highly talented experts as team peers.Growth and travel opportunities.A team of change-makers having a significant impact on people and the planet.About Edged Spain-PortugalEdged is launching a global network of sustainable datacenters and energy infrastructure.
