ENGINEERING MANAGER - LIFE SCIENCES, PORTAGE, WI

Por qué te necesitamos? Lead all engineering activities at the plant level for Portage, WI and Poestenkill, NY from inception to end of life.
This will include development of custom medical components, the processes to make these products, the automation related to the manufacturing and the continuous improvement of the processes throughout their lifecycle.
They will utilize the best technology available to design and build tooling to deliver the most robust manufacturing process.
They will work closely with raw material suppliers and our own R&D team to ensure optimum material is used for the customer's product.
The position leads a group of engineers whose objectives are to design, automate existing processes, manage projects, coordinate vendors, technology and personnel to ensure completion of projects in a reliable and timely manner.
Will be responsible for understanding the implications of any technical implementation with regards to safety, quality, environment, costs and productivity.
Will build a highly-effective engineering team that will be an example of leadership within LS.
Development.
• Lead the Portage engineering team efforts in custom product development and customer projects for Portage.
This includes accurate estimating, tool design & development, prototyping through program delivery to manufacturing.
• Develop and implement management systems in order to continuously improve the co-development process as a core competency within the Medical Components business.
• Seek, trial, and implement leading edge technology in material processing (molding & extrusion), prototyping, tooling design & development and tool building to ensure the medical team establishes and maintains a competitive manufacturing and development edge, as well as assist in risk mitigation initiatives for customers and internal needs.
Automation.
• Design and implement automation projects and process improvement projects to improve product quality, cost savings and efficiency.
• Performs Strategic and tactical management of new and ongoing projects.
• Industrialize new products by reliably and effective transitions into full scale manufacturing.
Manufacturing Optimization.
• Manages plant engineering activities related to capital expenditure covering design, cost estimation, request submissions, selection/construction, and compliance with local, state and federal environmental and fire prevention standards • Use WCM methodologies for management of projects, equipment installations and product optimization.
• Analyze and design lean manufacturing cells using automation and simulation tools to optimize, use of space, equipment, material and personnel.
• Continuously improve existing processes for improved product quality and output.
• Be a key contributor to the development of industry 4.
initiatives.
¿Es este trabajo para ti? Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering field or industrial management.
Experience in molding and/or extrusion of silicone, rubber polymers, theromsets and thermoplastics of 7+ years Prior background in project management of 3+ years Working knowledge of mold (LIM, Transfer, Injection and Compression and extrusion die design, function and construction) of 3+ years Demonstrated capability in a commercial or customer facing roll of 3+ years Experience in healthcare or related field.
