We are looking for an expert, highly collaborative associate scientist to join our In Vivo Neurophysiology team in the execution of research programs.
This established multidisciplinary team performs high quality in vivo studies using electrophysiology, neurochemistry, behavioral and histological analysis in animal models.
As a member of the team, you will be accountable in performing and delivering high quality data to support drug discovery projects for our global neuroscience biology group.
You will independently perform surgeries on rodents, experiment, troubleshoot, document, and report results to understand the effect of novel drug candidates on brain physiology.
The work also includes assisting in the validation and implementation of novel research models and technologies.
The candidate should have experience in working in a pharmaceutical environment with small laboratory animals, in sophisticated surgical techniques, in neurophysiological and behavioral data collection, analysis, and data reporting.
Your Key Responsibilities.
Support existing neuroscience projects with surgeries, including cranial electrode/minipump implantation and stereotaxic injections.
Perform neurophysiological assays such as EEG, LFP, and behavioral.
Troubleshoot with minimal direction.
Analyze data and report results to project teams across the research organization.
Lead or guide others on teams regarding processes, techniques or tasks.
Correct issues that may not be immediately evident, using existing or new procedures/processes.
Present unsolicited ideas to team leaders/supervisors.
Disseminate information with some guidance and exchanges information through written and oral communications.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on specific milestones.
Initiates and performs assigned research activities within established guidelines.
Maintain current laboratory equipment and analytical instruments.
Test standard procedures to provide recommendations for improvements.
Participate in the preparation and submission of technical reports, patent applications and manuscripts.
Collaborate effectively with project members by following priorities, checkpoints and timelines to deliver on objectives.

Master or equivalent experience in Neuroscience, biomedical sciences or related area and drug discovery.
FELASA-B certification or international equivalent is required.
Expertise in rodent surgeries, including stereotaxic injections, brain electrode and cannula (minipump) implantation, and in vivo neurophysiology recordings.
Experience conducting neuroscience-related behavioral assays, such as Y-maze, novel object recognition, fear-potentiated startle, local motor activity/coordination, and three-chamber sociability and social novelty tests.
Proficiency in data analysis and presentation.
An analytical mind that can work effectively with deadlines and timelines.
Experience in the areas of Neurodegeneration or Neuropsychiatry (e.
., Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, schizophrenia, or mood disorders).
A proven track record in neuroscience and experimental in vivo neurophysiology Proficiency with neurophysiology data acquisition and analysis programs.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail, that enable you to work in a fast paced, highly interactive environment.
Demonstrated ability to solve technical & scientific problems with creative and flexible solutions.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including preparation of presentations and reports.
