EXTERNAL RELATIONS SPECIALIST

Location.
Barcelona, Spain (On-site).

Please apply with an English Resume   As the Business Development External Relations Specialist you’ll play a KEY role in delivering our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives.
Business Development External Relations is responsible for supporting the delivery of all prioritized external partnership support in delivering their strategic priorities.
Ensuring seamless delivery of logistics to strengthen AZ’s oncology R&D position and reach in the oncology pharmaceutical industry.
This role will work closely across the Business Development team and with external C – suite executives.
Core Responsibilities include.
Support and handle the end-to-end accountability to deliver on the prioritized external partnership and investor meetings (face-to-face/virtual/hybrid).
Run all aspects of the external partner relationship life cycle.
This includes directly handling relationships and vendor responsibilities for priority external meetings, site recommendations, production supplier recommendations, contract negotiations, budgets, catering, creation and ownership of project plan, attendee management, logistics, event agenda and on-site support.
Liaise in partnership with internal/external C – suite stakeholders, ensuring consistent, appropriate brand presence, efficiency and alliances across all activities.
Deliver efficiency in spend, whilst upholding and increasing medical and commercial impact at key external and stakeholder meetings.
Provide strong project management with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across all levels, both internal and external with the ability to work across time zones (some early morning/late evenings or weekends will be required).
Be an active member of the Business Development Team to provide benchmarking, standard methodologies and knowledge sharing.

Project Management credentials and experience handling complex matrix teams or processes.

Past experience in the Biotechnology, investor or pharmaceutical industry Past Experience in global event management or congress planning High comfort level with interacting with senior leaders, ability to challenge decisions when appropriate Requirements.
5+ years’ experience in roles with significant client/investor/board level engagement 5+ years’ experience in delivering critical meetings in the US and overseas Demonstrated success in managing complex cross-matrix projects Demonstrated experience in managing multi department budgets, PO processes and Vendor management Logistics experience and knowledge of logistics planning systems Strong communication and collaboration skills Proficient in all Microsoft applications At AstraZeneca, we follow the science to explore and innovate.
