To support the next step in our organisational evolution we seek a Head of Operations to lead the regional processes of DUAL Iberica.Role overviewWe are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual, with excellent organisational and communication skills and a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will have the ability to work quickly, efficiently and methodically and have in depth knowledge of operational and underwriting practices. The successful individual will be required to work closely and collaboratively with other teams within DUAL, such as Audit, Compliance, IT and Finance and therefore will need the proven ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks. Role responsibilities— Responsible for the maintenance, compliance and effectiveness of the teams underwriting processes, ensuring the underwriting activities comply with DUAL binder and regulatory standards,— Coordinating the activities of the Underwriters and the Assistant Underwriters to ensure the exchange of information between them is robust and results in acceptable standards of policy detail, data and completeness,— Overseeing the accuracy and timeliness of data entry for all lines of business within the team, underwriting & claims,— Liaising with other teams within DUAL such as Audit, Compliance, Marketing, IT and Finance,— Representing the underwriting and operations teams requirements and standards with regard to the implementation of systems in new regions. Ensuring all requirements are met, standards are high and there is no negative impact to operating practises,— Responsible for system monitoring on the underwriting systems and Testing, — Conducting and monitoring both internally and externally, subjectivity tracking and identifying missing raters, as well as threshold and territorial reporting (including Sanctions),— Supporting the team during Binder Authority Agreement renewals, more specifically with system Binder testing, broker communication and external platform set up,— Overseeing the work and underwriting performance of both DUAL Iberica and the Global Underwriting team and ensuring that the standards set in the DUAL Underwriting Framework are met consistently, reporting to the Underwriting controls team on a regular basis,— Proactively and collaboratively working with capacity providers, responding to any queries with regards to the binder, pulling ad hoc reports, when required,— Ensuring that all records and materials required within the Underwriting Framework are created and maintained, — Accountable for the Underwriting Operations Assistants to ensure performance and delivery, providing leadership and management of workload and ensuring compliance and controls are followed at all times, across multiple regions,— Responsible for resolution of aged debt and unallocated cash with the Credit Control team, resolving both underwriter and broker queries,— Ensuring Bordereaux and reporting deadlines are adhered to,— Ensuring all Underwriting Authorities are current and maintained,— On-boarding of new underwriting teams (Lines of business) to the existing operational frameworkKey requirements— Ability to work quickly, efficiently and methodically— Ability to communicate new initiatives, ideas and systems— Ability to analyse data and identify remedial actions— In depth knowledge of operational and underwriting practices — A strong team player who is confident in their ability — Proven leadership skills with demonstrable evidence of creating and leading a high performance working culture— Strong verbal communication skills— Able to demonstrate Problem Solving Skills— Experience working with offshore teams (desirable but not essential) — Sound awareness of the insurance industry, including Tax and regulatory knowledgeWhat do we offer in return?— A competitive salary— Benefits package— 2 days of paid volunteering leave— Birthday off— Flexibility with hybrid working— A career you define— A challenging role at one of the most ambitious underwriting agencies— Collaboration with specialists and market leaders where your development and growth is centralOur culture: People FirstOur core values dictate how we live and work.
