JUNIOR TECHNICAL PRODUCT MANAGER

Position summary:The Product Management team at TransPerfect is comprised of individuals skilled in proactively managing the development process of our applications with a desire to apply their knowledge during the entire lifecycle of an application, from gathering requirements to releasing to Production in collaboration with other teams. Junior Product Managers work within our Technology group and act as the primary point of contact for our Client Solutions Teams and Internal Solutions Teams, as well other teams within our group, collaborating with some of the industry’s leading technology minds on the world’s leading translation automation platform. Position responsibilities: Support the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to release, taking an active approach during User Acceptance Testing/Quality Assurance cycles of new product versionsSupport the tracking of delivery schedules, ensuring proper quality assurance, and manage changes in work scopeEngage stakeholders on necessary inputs, manage communications, expectations and dependenciesParticipate in UI/UX designPerform UAT and Quality Assurance of a product’s REST API, validating the correct implementation of a feature’s specification and identifying possible gaps and bugsAuthor and review Documentation updatesAnalyze reported issues, new features and improvement requests from stakeholders and communicate them accurately and effectively to developers, writing formal specifications when necessaryProvide support to colleagues from other teams, including Client Solutions Teams and Internal Solutions Teams as well as Technology Sales and Technology ServicesSelf train to better understand internal and third party technologiesPerform any other special tasks that are deemed appropriate for this role as assigned by the manager/supervisorEssential skills and experience required: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalentFluency in English with good verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsGood problem-solving skills, especially in the context of troubleshooting web applications, and good analytical skillsOutstanding time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environmentExperience in effectively working with external and internal clients to gather and organize user requirements, user stories and use casesGood knowledge of all aspects of the software product development lifecycle, including 1 year of software product management experience in a corporate environmentWork experience in software development using Java and scripting languagesTechnical background with experience in any of the following: Java, REST APIs, JSON/XML, PHP or PERLResourceful with the drive to learn and improve skillsProactive, self-starter attitude with desire to own projects with limited supervisionDesired skills and experience:Knowledge of a second languageComputer Science or Engineering degreeKnowledge of JIRA, Confluence, Testrail or similar systemsKnowledge of localization Computer Aided Translation tools and Translation Memory ToolsExperience using regular expression, Xpath and other parsing techniquesFamiliarity with microservicesAbility to work with cross-functional teamsTransPerfect and its companies provides equal employment opportunities to all individuals regardless of their race, color, creed, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by local law.
