Would you like to influence how precision medicine is practised across Canada? We are looking for people who would like to interact with professionals associated with diagnostic testing laboratories, such as laboratory directors, pathologists, molecular geneticists, and other laboratory staff to create these changes.
Precision Medicine Liaisons (PMLs) are experts who play a meaningful role in improving the implementation of diagnostic testing and patient diagnostic journeys.
PMLs can work with Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) to ensure that HCPs are educated about diagnostic testing options available to their patients, and to collect key insights from HCPs related to their testing experience and the diagnostic laboratories they work with.
We want to hear from you! Key Responsibilities.
You will identify, develop, and handle relationships with a variety of HCPs, with a primary focus on diagnostic laboratory directors and pathologists, to engage in meaningful scientific exchange of diagnostic information with the oncology community.
You will help co-create impactful solutions with partners to help move diagnostic discussions into clinical practice, including education and research activities.
In addition, you'll work with multiple internal teams to understand test reimbursement processes and shape the environment for new precision medicines.
Together with the Medical Director, Precision Medicine, we will ensure and support system readiness for new targeted therapies, including mapping and profiling of customers and leaders interested in scientific information, education, and research.
We will also collaborate to identify new external opportunities aligned with our precision medicine strategies to support continuous improvement to diagnostic testing across Canada.
You will maintain the highest standards of ethics, quality, compliance and accountability and act in accordance with the J&J Credo.
Qualifications Education.
A post-graduate scientific degree (PhD and/or MD) in medicine, biology or related fields OR a PharmD OR a MSc plus four years of work experience in biology or related fields (medicine, genomics) is required.
Experience and Skills.
Required.
Demonstrated knowledge of modern diagnostic technologies used in oncology such as Next Generation Sequencing from sample collection to data analysis Experience in oncology Minimum two years experience working with customers or similar external partners Proven experience delivering scientific presentations, developing insights, and communicating to broad audiences.
A strong ethical approach and understanding of relevant compliance principles and regulations.
Preferred.
Prior work experience in laboratory genomics Prior work experience in the pharmaceutical or companion diagnostics industry Demonstrated understanding of the Canadian healthcare systems coupled with the ability to understand and address opportunities/gaps for bringing personalized medicine to clinical practice An entrepreneurial mindset and a strong desire to work at the forefront of personalized medicine and transform oncology care to benefit patients across Canada Demonstrated interpersonal skills to successfully navigate a complex organizational matrix.
Experience in the interpretation and assessment of rapidly changing information with relevance to the evolving landscape of clinical study results and diagnostic testing related to them.

Fluency in English is a requirement for the role.
Proficiency in French is an asset.
Ability for up to 50% travel across Canada.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $ to $ CAD.
