Platform EngineerDescription: We’re seeking a skilled Platform Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of our robust infrastructure. In this role, you’ll leverage your expertise in cloud environments, automation, and CI/CD practices to enhance system reliability and developer productivity. You’ll collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to build a streamlined and efficient platform.A key part of your responsibilities will include helping the broader engineering team understand the foundational technologies of the cloud product we are using and occasionally assisting with on-premise deployments on customer infrastructure using Docker and Kubernetes.Responsibilities:Infrastructure Design & Implementation: Architect and manage scalable, resilient infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments.Use Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.Possess a solid understanding of microservices architecture.Developer Platform Development:Create and maintain platforms that empower developers with self-service tools for application building, testing, and deployment.Integrate CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git on Bitbucket) to optimize software delivery processes.Process Automation & Orchestration:Automate operational tasks such as deployment, scaling, and monitoring.Utilize containerization and orchestration tools, including Docker and Kubernetes, to support microservices architecture.Monitoring & Performance Optimization:Implement robust monitoring solutions to track platform health and performance.Troubleshoot infrastructure or application issues to minimize downtime.Conduct capacity planning to optimize platform performance for scalability and efficiency.Security & Compliance:Uphold platform security with best practices in access control, encryption, and vulnerability management.Set up logging, auditing, and monitoring systems to ensure compliance with industry standards.Collaboration & Support:Partner with software development, operations, and security teams to ensure platform stability and meet business objectives.Provide support and guidance to developers, maximizing their effective use of platform resources.Cloud Optimization:Manage cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP, continuously optimizing resource utilization to control costs.Implement cloud-native solutions for scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery.Documentation & Training:Develop and maintain documentation for platform usage, troubleshooting, and best practices.Conduct training sessions to help internal teams and developers maximize platform functionality.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.Deep expertise in cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, and leveraging Terraform.Strong experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).Proven experience in CI/CD pipeline development and automation frameworks.Proficient in scripting languages and automation tools (e.g., Python, Bash).Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).In-depth understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance.Excellent troubleshooting abilities and experience working in cross-functional teams.Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.How to Apply:Send your resume to info@cdhprofessionals.com with "Platform Engineer" in the subject line, and we will get back to you ASAP.
