All you need is a climb!Born in Australia in 2014, Everesting has since been completed by nearly 30,000 athletes across 116 countries. Irish cyclist Ronan McLaughlin holds the current record, completing the challenge in just under seven hours.In addition to curating the homologation of attempts, official registration in the Hall of Fame, and maintaining records, Everesting Challenge SL plays a key role in cultivating the global community of athletes, enthusiasts, and supporters. Through multiple interaction formats -such as events, partnerships, content, products, services, experiences and a strong digital presence- the company connects like-minded individuals who are passionate about challenging themselves and embracing their limits. This sense of community is at the core of the Everesting experience, providing motivation, inspiration, and support for those taking on one of the world's ultimate endurance challenges.Now, starting in 2024, we have decided to take the Everesting brand to the next level, providing the company with a professional team and the necessary resources to grow and fulfill its full potential globally, offering our community a unique experience and making Everesting a benchmark brand in the space of ultra-endurance challenges.Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced PR & Media Relations Project Manager to lead and enhance the public presence of Everesting. This individual will be responsible for shaping our brand’s narrative, building relationships with media outlets, managing communications, and increasing public awareness of our events, products, services and experiences.You will also participate in the coordination of influencer and ambassador programs, ensuring strong collaborations and visibility across various platforms. Attending key industry events and community gatherings to foster relationships with media and key stakeholders will be an important aspect of the role. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure our brand is consistently represented across all platforms, driving engagement and participation in our global events.You will be part of a young and dynamic staff, working closely with the Content Creation and Community Relations teams to deliver cohesive and engaging public relations strategies.Key Responsibilities·     Public Relations Strategy: Develop and implement a PR strategy that aligns with the organization's purpose and goals, positioning the Everesting brand as a leader in ultra-endurance sports.·     Media Outreach: Cultivate and manage relationships with international media outlets, journalists, influencers, and bloggers to secure coverage of our events, athletes, and initiatives, aligning broad mainstream targets with specific niche needs.·     Press Materials: Create and distribute compelling press releases, media kits, and other PR materials such as raw video footage, photography and testimonials to highlight key events, stories and organizational updates.·     Event Promotion: Plan and execute media coverage strategies for events before, during, and after they occur. Coordinate media attendance and support journalists with information, interviews and access.·     Marketing of Products and Services: Collaborate in the marketing and promotion of the brand's products and services—such as apparel collections, travel experiences, nutrition and fitness advice—through strategic PR initiatives, driving visibility and engagement with target audiences.·     PR Events & Networking: Plan and organize media-focused events such as press conferences, press trips, interview opportunities and product launches. Attend relevant industry events (e.g., trade fairs, community gatherings, celebrations) to foster relationships with media, partners, and stakeholders, expanding the organization's network and visibility.·     Ambassador & Influencer Programs: Manage relationships with influencers, athletes, and brand ambassadors, ensuring strategic collaborations that drive engagement, visibility, and participation in our events. Identify new talent and maintain strong communication with existing partners.·     Crisis Management: Provide media handling guidance during critical or sensitive moments, ensuring clear and effective communication that protects the organization's reputation.·     Content Creation: Collaborate with the Content Creation and Community Relations teams to produce engaging stories, testimonials, and news articles that support the PR efforts and reflect the spirit of the Everesting Challenge.·     Media Monitoring: Track media coverage and compile reports on the effectiveness of PR campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.·     Partnerships: Work closely with sponsors, partners, and ambassadors to create collaborative PR opportunities that enhance the brand's visibility.Key Requirements:·     Experience: 3-5 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or communications, preferably in the sports, fitness, or adventure tourism industries.·     Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related fields.·     Media Relations: Proven experience in developing media contacts and securing placements in a wide range of outlets, from mainstream news to niche sports publications.·     Event PR: Experience planning and managing PR for events, including working with media on-site, organizing press conferences, interviews, or live coverage.·     Influencer Management: Experience managing ambassadors and influencers, from sourcing talent to maintaining long-term relationships, and ensuring alignment with brand values.·     Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and communicate complex information clearly.·     Digital Media Savvy: Familiarity with digital and social media trends, including experience working with influencers and bloggers.·     Networking: Strong networking and relationship-building skills, especially with media representatives and stakeholders in various event environments.·     Problem Solving: Strong ability to handle media crises and develop proactive strategies for managing public perception.·     Attention to Detail: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail when handling media materials, timelines, and coverage.·     Passion for Adventure: A passion for outdoors, endurance sports, adventure, or fitness will be highly valued.·     Flexibility and Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to adjust to changing circumstances and priorities in a fast-paced environment.·     Team Player: Strong collaborative skills, with a willingness to work closely with team members across various departments to achieve common goals.·     Availability: Open to working flexible hours and in diverse locations, exhibiting commitment to full availability for the demands of the role.·     Willingness to Travel: Open to travel for events, media coverage, and networking opportunities as needed.Preferred Qualifications:·     Experience working with global or large-scale event organizations.·     Strong relationships with sports, adventure, or fitness journalists.·     Knowledge of the endurance sports landscape and community.·     Experience with media tracking software and tools.·     Content Creation Skills: Proven experience and capacity to create engaging content (copy, photography, video) to support the Content Creation team in developing compelling narratives and materials.·     Design and Presentation Skills: Proficiency in design and presentation software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, PowerPoint) to create visually appealing materials for media and promotional purposes.Why Join Us?·     Be part of a growing global movement in endurance sports and adventure challenges.·     Opportunity to shape the brand narrative and public image of an exciting organization.·     Work with a passionate and driven team committed to making a positive impact in the fitness and adventure communities.·     Competitive salary, benefits, and opportunities for growth.To Apply:Please submit your resume, cover letter explaining your motivation and how you see your contribution to the role, and portfolio of PR campaigns or media placements to crew@everesting.com.
