About BSC The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain.
It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, was a founding and hosting member of the former European HPC infrastructure PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe), and is now hosting entity for EuroHPC JU, the Joint Undertaking that leads large-scale investments and HPC provision in Europe.

Context And Mission The Quantic group is a BSC initiative to study Quantum computation.
This novel paradigm of computation has the potential to exploit Quantum mechanics to perform high-performance computations of Quantum systems and optimization problems.
The final goal of this project is the application of this new computing power to real-world problems.
Our approach involves the development of novel HPC tools to simulate and study large scale Quantum circuits.
Key Duties Study and implement parallel tools to simulate Quantum circuits Perform benchmarks of HPC simulation tools Integration and release of software in production Requirements Education Completed degree in Physics, Computer science or equivalent Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience Experience in parallel programming models (MPi, OpenMP,...)
