SATELLITE OPERATIONS ENGINEER

In Sateliot we are looking for a Satellite Operations Engineer, willing to face the challenges of a fast-growing space telecom startup!Ready to be part of the challenge?Who we areSateliot is a Barcelona-based Startup in the New Space sector, becoming the first satellite telecommunications operator that will provide global and continuous connectivity to all the elements that will make up the massive Internet of Things (IoT) universe under the 5G protocol.In order to do so, Sateliot is launching a constellation of last generation nanosatellites, located at low altitude that act as mobile towers. Sateliot is the perfect complement for large telecommunications companies by providing them with the necessary infrastructure where terrestrial technologies do not arrive. Your missionYour mission at Sateliot Mission Control Center will be to operate CubeSat form factor satellites in LEO orbit working as a Payload, ACDS, EPS, Termal, Thruster, TM&TC subsystem engineer. The mission includes the operation of Key Technology Enablers for the 3GPP 5G Rel 17 NTN service implemented by Sateliot.Activities will include support at all mission phases including the commercial operation and routine operation at L1 with the support of the satellite and Payload manufacturer.Your main functionsMonitoring and control of the satellites. Ensure the smooth constellation operations by means of a 24/7 shift pattern and on-call support for Spacecraft Operators.Execution of the platform and payload activities based on the requirements of the SIC4 commercial operations.Execute the emergency procedures to ensure spacecraft safety and the continuity of service provision to users. Support the Space and Ground Segment anomaly investigation and resolution.Prepare, validate and maintain the Operations Procedures and other operations documentation, as well as the mission specific tools, operations databases and products needed for the operations, based on documentation and lessons learned.Participate in the commissioning of all the satellite subsystems in collaboration with the satellite and payload manufacturer. Generate reports and support the service manager to close the commissioning phase.Define, in collaboration with the satellite and payload manufacturer, the LEOP, commissioning and routine procedures of future missions.RequirementsIf you have a BSc degree in Telecommunication/Aerospace Technology Engineering – or similar, and minimum 2 years of proven experience in a similar role and industry, then this is your opportunity! Master degrees in Aerospace Engineering is a plus.We expect you to have knowledge in satellite operations. With a good understanding of satellite operations, health check and telecontrol. Satellite maneuvering for orbital keeping, collision avoidance, phasing and reaction wheels desaturation are a plus.Specific training will be performed with the satellite manufacturer. Specific training for payload instruments will be performed to correctly operate 5G IoT Non Terrestrial Network payload.We are looking for a great communicator able to interact with different teams (Product, technical…), who is proactive and independent, knows how to manage time and pay attention to details. Proficiency in English is a must!
