The Strategy and M&A unit at BBVA is a high-performance, highly demanding team, recognized as a talent pool for the bank.
The unit leads the execution of strategic projects across a diverse range of areas, including Banking M&A, Digital M&A, Strategic Joint Ventures & Partnerships, and the management of Industrial and Real Estate holdings.
This position provides significant exposure to BBVA’s top management, requiring the delivery of first-class analysis and offering invaluable insights into the bank’s strategic decisions.
You will play an active role in high-profile projects that drive the transformation of the bank and create value for BBVA’s shareholders.
Sobre el puesto BBVA is looking to hire an M&A Analyst / Associate to join a highly successful team responsible for the execution of acquisition, divestment, and partnership projects, both locally and internationally.
This role offers an exceptionally steep learning curve, as you will be involved in analyzing and executing opportunities across various sub-segments within the financial industry.
These include retail and corporate banking, wealth and asset management, pension fund administration, insurance services, digital payments, fintech innovations, and specialized financial institutions, among others.
Key Responsibilities.
Gathering information and conducting market and industry research.
In-depth financial statement analysis of target companies.
Financial modeling and company valuation (using methods such as DDM, market trading multiples, etc.).
Coordinating both internal and external teams conducting due diligence on identified opportunities.
Preparing presentations and discussion materials for BBVA Group’s C-level executives regarding investment opportunities and strategic conclusions.
Requirements.
Education.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or other finance-related fields.
MBA, CFA, or postgraduate studies are preferred.
Experience.
Solid understanding of the M&A process and experience in financial modeling and company valuation.
Languages.
High fluency in English, both oral and written (minimum C1 level required).
Travel.
Occasional travel will be required.
