Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Category Manager to join their Market Development team. The business is a fast-growing player in the beauty/cosmetic packaging market with huge growth plans for this category. This role is vital for ensuring the profitable growth of the makeup category through strategic product offerings and business development initiatives that drive growth and profitability. The Category Manager will lead a small team within the category and act as an intermediary between R&D/innovation through to commercialisation of innovative products. Key Responsibilities:Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive category development plan, setting annual targets and long-term goals to grow revenue and gross margins.Market Research: Stay ahead of industry trends by conducting market research, attending client meetings, shows, and events to develop on-trend, innovative packaging solutions.Product Development: Design and develop the category's product offering, including in-house and outsourced solutions, aligning with market needs and sustainability goals.Sales Enablement: Train global sales teams on the product offering, ensuring they are equipped to convert opportunities into business. Own the gross margin for your category by balancing pricing and costs to drive profitability.Innovation & Launches: Collaborate with R&D and the Creative Hub to design, develop, and launch new products, bringing added value and innovative solutions to the market.Supplier Relationships: Act as a business partner to key suppliers, fostering strong relationships and working closely with the Sourcing team to ensure a competitive and sustainable product range.
