For its Head office Madrid, Spain, Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking a COMMUNICATIONS AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS MANAGER to be hired on a Permanent Contract, reporting directly to the Communication & Public Affairs Lead Iberia.
The individual will oversee communication activities with external target groups, developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies for various therapeutic areas, as well as social and digital communication strategies.
Responsibilities.
Formulate and implement robust communication strategies to increase awareness of the therapeutic areas in which we operate.
This includes planning to define target groups, selecting appropriate channels, and crafting effective messaging.
Proactively identify opportunities to apply communication and public affairs techniques and strategies according to our business priorities.
Build and maintain contacts with journalists and media representatives, write and distribute press releases, and establish a strong network of agencies.
Oversee the company's reputation and create campaigns to enhance brand awareness.
Design strategies and plan content to effectively engage with audiences on digital and social media.
Maintain the company’s presence across these platforms and monitor and analyze the performance of social media content.
Ensure a consistent brand identity in external and internal communications.
Utilize and refine KPIs to measure the impact of communication efforts, ensuring that strategies are data-driven and aligned with organizational goals.
Collaborate closely with Communication and Public Affairs professionals in EMEA and Global to leverage their expertise, identify areas of commonality for greater impact, and share best practices.
Manage budgets to ensure optimal resourcing for success.
Establish systems and processes to ensure strong and appropriate compliance across all elements of our work.
Identify and implement strategies to drive employee engagement and support key change management initiatives across the business unit.
Assist executive leadership with internal and external communications.
Monitor media coverage and industry trends, providing regular reports and insights.
Handle our approach on key sensitive issues and in times of crisis.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree; Journalism preferred.
At least 6-10 years of experience in communication roles.
Experience in the healthcare sector and/or policy-making environment preferred.
Experience handling press releases and organizing events.
Strong understanding of Spanish media and experience engaging directly with journalists.
Competency in issue management and development of talking points and messages.
Knowledge in creating and implementing social media strategies and monitoring online content.
Experience using KPIs and analytical tools to assess communication impact.
Calm decision-making, good presenting, and communication skills in high-pressure live environments.
Proactive and independent work style with high motivation to take responsibility.
Adaptability to changing circumstances and requirements.
Careful and precise work approach, especially in content creation.
Understanding of company processes and accurate adherence to policies and procedures.
Proactive attitude to identify and address opportunities.
Strategic thinker with the ability to devise robust strategies to engage different stakeholders.
Flawless Spanish written, verbal, and visual communication skills are essential.
Advanced level of English.
Exceptional communication and coordination skills in a complex organization with proven success navigating among multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to balance short- and long-term priorities.
Budget and agency management experience.
