DESIGN PROJECT MANAGER

Key Purpose of the JobAs the Design Project Manager for Production, Consultancy, and Project Management Design, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of design within the organization. Your role will involve leading a team of designers, collaborating with clients, and ensuring the successful execution of design projects from conception to completion. You will play a key role in driving creativity, innovation, and excellence in design while meeting client objectives and project deadlines.Key ResponsibilitiesManage all phases of design projects, from concept development to implementation.Ensure timelines and financial targets are met by developing project plans, schedules, and budgets.Ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction by coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.Manage risks during project execution, anticipating and mitigating them.Develop production design concepts in accordance with client requirements and brand guidelines.Develop detailed technical drawings, prototypes, and specifications that facilitate services.Providing insights, recommendations, and solutions to address clients' design challenges and needs.Integrate market trends, competitor offerings, and consumer preferences into design strategies through research and analysis.Describe the rationale behind design decisions to clients and advocate for innovative solutions.Maintain attention to detail and consistency throughout the design process, ensuring the highest quality and craftsmanship.Optimize efficiency and effectiveness of design operations by establishing and enforcing best practices, standards, and processes.As technical leader, you coordinate cross-program activities and provide technical leadership to ensure efficient and accurate technical delivery. In addition to excellence in health and safety, you'll minimize risks throughout the design process.Maintaining standards and practices, as well as managing technical resources efficiently, is essential. Using standard designs and products to enhance program efficiency will be your responsibility as you oversee quality checking and approval procedures.Coordinating multiple design parties to meet client expectations requires a keen eye for quality and a holistic approach to design management. Timeliness, budget constraints, and quality standards must be met when designing projects.Educational Qualification Master’s or bachelor’s degree in design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or a related field.Additional Qualifications / certificationsCertification in Project Management is highly desirable, demonstrating proficiency in managing complex design projects.Chartered / Professional Engineer or other memberships of Professional Institution.Prior experience 10+ years project design management experience on large mixed-use development projects.Worked for an international consultancy for around 10-12 years and over 5 years of experience.Preferably someone from Design Management and PMC experience on Theme Parks, FEC, Theme Environmental Attractions.Other skills (preferred)Strong business acumen and understanding of market dynamics, trends, and competitive landscape within the design industry.Excellent negotiation and client management skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships.Experience with design research methods, user-centered design principles, and design thinking methodologies.Proficiency in presentation and storytelling, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts effectively to diverse audiences.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on driving continuous improvement and innovation in design processes and outcomes.
