INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY ENGINEER

This role bridges technology and legal expertise, focusing on identifying, protecting, and managing the company’s intellectual property assets.The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent analytical skills, and familiarity with IP-related processes in the tech industry.Responsibilities:Strategic and AnalyticalIdentify opportunities for IP creation, development, and improvement of IP strategy.Monitor and assess competitive IP through patents, technologies, and market evaluations.Analyze and advise on navigating identified IP risks.Evaluate prospective patent portfolios for licensing and service opportunities.Identify, develop, and implement strategic patent transactions.IP Development and ProtectionLead efforts to mine for patents with product teams and prepare materials for patent applications.Develop, protect, and maintain patents, trademarks, copyrights, domains, and trade secrets.Assist in drafting claims and creating claim drafts for patent prosecution.Enforce and improve IP protection policies.Vigilantly monitor for unauthorized IP use and manage infringement cases.Implement strategies to prevent IP misuse.Commercialization and EnforcementSupport monetization of IP assets through licensing, partnerships, and other ventures.Participate in licensing negotiations with clients and customers.Manage and support IP litigations and disputes effectively.Collaboration and CommunicationWork with cross-functional teams for necessary experimentation and technical validations.Present technical findings to engineering and non-engineering audiences.Coordinate and follow up on IP matters with internal and external partners, including law firms.Communicate effectively across teams, ensuring adherence to international IP laws.Administrative and OrganizationalMaintain and update TMRW’s IP inventory.Organize and manage IP-related documents, invoices, and payments.Draft IP-related documents (contracts, policies, procedures).Ensure compliance with international IP regulations.Regular travel to domestic and international offices for collaboration and strategy meetings.Support administrative tasks related to the IP team as required.Things we’d like to see:A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Law, or a related field.Additional qualifications in intellectual property law, such as a certification or master's degree, are advantageous.3+ years of experience in IP management, patent drafting, patent prosecution, or technology development.Proven track record in IP strategy formulation, licensing, or litigation support.Deep understanding of patent drafting, prosecution, and claim development.Familiarity with international IP laws and regulations.Knowledge of TMRW’s product lines and industry-specific trends.Knowledge of other intellectual property rights such as trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets is desirable.Additional Skills:Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Effective communication skills to present technical findings to diverse audiences.Strategic thinker with attention to detail.Highly collaborative and able to work across multidisciplinary teams.Proactive and self-motivated, with a passion for innovation and intellectual property.Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally as required.Strong commitment to staying updated on industry developments and research.Why Join Us:At The TMRW Foundation – you will be part of a dynamic and innovative team that is dedicated to building cutting-edge technologies.
