Having made some recent impressive senior hires, they are looking to continue growing their procurement team with the introduction of Category Managers and Operational Buyers. Although we are looking to speak to procurement professionals at different stages in their procurement career – one point remains a constant – we are looking for procurement candidates with a track record of working in strategic procurement functions, with the tenacity and proactiveness to help improve procurement processes whilst building strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.Category Manager The Category Managers will have their own specific category to own and develop. We’re looking to speak to strategic procurement professionals with the following skills and experience:Prior experience implementing strategic category plans – working with the internal business to understand key goals and challenges before building robust and partnership led category strategies A track record of sourcing commodities/produce/ingredients – applicants should be confident understanding the market and pricing with the ability to navigate geopolitical challenges Someone who isn’t afraid to work in ambiguity as the transformation journey develops – and provide structure and guidance for the business Strong supplier relationship experience – working to diversify supply base and working in partnership with key strategic vendors to ensure quality and performance Excellent communication and natural problem-solving skills – we want to speak to candidates who are proactive and have a track record of improving processes whilst working collaboratively with key stakeholdersOperational BuyerThe Operational Buyers will be responsible for the execution of the category strategies. They will play a key role in working with the business stakeholders and category managers to help align business requirements and deliver against the procurement vision. We are looking to speak to candidates with the following skills and experience:Strong procurement understanding – ideally some exposure to a strategic procurement function and a track record of assisting on category strategiesPosive attitude with the ability to remain calm and execute in a fast-paced procurement environment Excellent understanding of ERP systems and procurement processesConfident communicator – we are looking to speak to procurement candidates who are not phased when approaching senior stakeholders and pushing back when required Ambitious and keen to learn – the procurement transformation is the perfect opportunity for exposure, and success in this role will lead to progression in the procurement function This is a very exciting time for the business and a great time to join and be part of their transformation journey.
