What we do The West Professional Development Manager will be responsible for leading Professional Development and Staffing for the Associate Directors, Director, Senior Directors and Partners in the West Region in partnership with the Industry Lead, Market Leads, Regional Leader and as a member of the West Regional Leadership Team.
Additionally, the Manager will work in partnership with the wider North America and Global PD function, as well as North America HR on Gartner Consulting strategic people priorities.
Role Purpose Develop one-on-one relationships and regularly meet with Associate Directors, Director, Senior Directors and Partners to discuss staffing, career development, goals, objectives, and interests.
Support your associate population in developing a balanced perspective between client engagements, utilization, individual goals, and business needs.
Help to develop our mid-level and senior management talent.
Monitor associate’s development and provide counsel on appropriate engagements, skill development, career, and progression, including understanding role profiles and competencies and discuss career path choices as appropriate.
Partner with HR to manage associate evaluation processes, feedback and promotions.
Support associates in providing quality feedback for their colleagues and help to contextualize feedback received through coaching conversations.
Consultant Staffing.
In conjunction with the North American PD Team, work with Managing Partners and project leads to understand staffing requirements and oversee the staffing of teams to projects based on an understanding of client, region and individual needs.
Support a balanced staffing culture in the region – including coaching teams on engagement design, adherence to the staffing cycle cadence and the apprenticeship mindset in staffing.
West Community and Associate Engagement.
In partnership with other functions and the business, support associate onboarding, West talent strategy, and counselor/counselee pairings.
Develop and present at West Town Halls, local training, and other events to support local and regional community development efforts.
Partner with HR and Leadership on advancing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Cultivate relationships at all levels across Consulting, Human Resources, Recruiting, Legal, Talent Management, member of Consulting Sub-Region Leadership Team Role Requirements Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is required.
MBA Preferred.
A range of 4-8 years professional experience is required, 2 years progressive experience in management required, preferably in a Talent or Consulting role.
Extensive experience in presenting and communicating ideas to others.
Proven experience in managing and developing staff from different organizations and with diversified levels, skills and backgrounds.
Strong customer service, meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills necessary.
Strong analytical, problem solving and quantitative skills.
Microsoft Suite proficiency, particularly with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, required.
Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required, including executive level communication skills Ability to deal with highly confidential information appropriately; Must be able to work in dynamic environment with challenging deadlines.
Outstanding project management skills (projects involving internal and external stakeholders) with an ability to meet tight deadlines, juggle multiple projects at once, and prioritize workloads.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is USD - USD.
Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.
In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
