s/) is the technological research center of the University of Deusto, located on the Bilbao campus, whose mission is to promote research, training and knowledge transfer at the service of society and industry.
Within DeustoTech, the Chair of Computational Mathematics, is dedicated to advancing research, training, and outreach in various aspects of Applied Mathematics.
Our team works actively in the broad area of Applied Mathematics and Machine Learning, developing and applying methods of Mathematical and Computational Mathematics to model, understand, design and control the dynamics of various phenomena arising in the interface of Mathematics with Engineering, Physics, Environment and Climate Sciences and Social Sciences.
In particular, CoDeFeL seeks to make a breakthrough that takes the mathematical foundations of Machine Learning beyond their present frontiers, through the systematic development of new ideas and methods inspired by control theory.
The project is developed by the “Chair for Dynamics, Control, Machine Learning, and Numerics – Alexander von Humboldt Professorship (FAU DCN-AvH) in cooperation with the University of Deusto in Bilbao (https://cmc.

us), Basque Country, Spain led by Enrique Zuazua.
Deustotech is seeking a part-time Project Manager with proven experience in the design and management of international research projects.
The successful candidate must work closely with the project's principal researcher and team, as well as DeustoTech's managerial team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for internal and external dialogue on project-related issues, ensuring the smooth development and fulfilment of the project as set out in the contract with the European Commission.

2 Functions.
The project manager tasks to be performed include the following.
a) Scheduling and controlling the project timeline, tasks and logistics to meet deadlines and set objectives.
b) Coordinating the activities carried out by the working team closely with the project’s PR, including admission and incorporation of team members during the project.
c) Monitoring progress.
writing progress reports, official reports, book keeping, and carrying out administration and managerial tasks.
d) Serving as a project interlocutor with other functional areas at the University of Deusto.
e) Establishing and maintaining communication channels with other entities.
● Participating and promoting international meetings with the aim of creating connections and synergies within the project.
● Identifying and establishing collaborations with the various actors involved in the innovation system (intersectoriality).
f) Identifying, channeling and enhancing opportunities for innovation as well as coordination with international calls for researchers.
g) Ensuring the internal and external visibility of the research and innovation effort of the project (ensuring participation in seminars, R+D+I reports, press releases, etc.).
h) Ensuring documentation and protection of innovation outcomes and promoting their use and transfer.

Qualifications required Requirements.
a) Bachelor’s degree and /or Master degree b) Training in R+D+I project management and experience in drafting proposals and managing research projects (e.
.
FP7, H) and funding mechanisms of the European Commission.
We are seeking a candidate with at least three years' experience in the management, monitoring and justification of European projects funded by the European Commission (Horizon , among others).
Having previous experience in the management of European research projects (FP7, Horizon , ERC) would be an asset.
c) Having experience in the design and drafting of research proposals in the disciplinary field of applied mathematics and/or engineering would be an advantage.
d) Negotiation and interpersonal skills to generate a smooth interaction with research and management staff internally and with other local, regional and international entities; Collaborative and competitive intelligence.
e) Languages.
proficiency in English and Spanish.
A good knowledge of Basque would be an asset.
