CELL DESIGN MANAGERDepartment: Engineering.Your role:Cell Design Manager is responsible for the electrochemical design of lithium-ion battery cells for various applications. This position oversees all aspects of cell design, from concept development to qualification, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company objectives. It is essential to drive innovation, optimize efficiency, and deliver high-quality cell designs on time and within budget.Main functions:Strategic LeadershipDevelop strategic plans and objectives for the Cell Engineering team in alignment with organizational goals and customer needs.Lead the development of semi-solid and solid-state lithium-ion battery cell designs, ensuring innovative solutions that meet performance requirements.Review customer requirements, propose electrochemical solutions, and select appropriate chemistry based on customer specifications.Team Management and DevelopmentLead and motivate the Cell Engineering team to achieve high performance and meet project deadlines.Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to team members, fostering their professional development and growth.Manage team resources effectively, including budget allocation and workload distribution.Collaboration and CommunicationCollaborate with suppliers, Operations Team, R&D, and other stakeholders to develop innovative cell chemistries that meet project objectives.Communicate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cell designs into product development processes.Act as a technical contact point for customer-related meetings, providing support and expertise as needed.Project Oversight and ExecutionDevelop and execute test plans to evaluate the electrochemical performance of cell designs, working closely with the Testing Team to generate qualification data.Lead investigations to address cell design-related issues, preparing status reports and implementing corrective actions as required.Quality Assurance and ComplianceEnsure compliance with applicable test equipment, procedures, international standards, and certified agency requirements for lithium-ion battery cells.Apply quality tools to production processes, including statistical analysis of performance results, process capabilities, and design of experiments.Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of cell design and manufacturing.RequirementsCell Design Manager must have proven track-record 5 years of experience in physical sciences R&D within the Li-ion Battery or other battery technologies, whether as part of academic or industrial activity.Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.In-depth knowledge of functional safety, cell chemistry, and mechanical development, with experience in battery system design preferred.Proficiency in electrode preparation process, cell assembly, and electrochemical performance evaluation.Fluent in English.WHAT WE OFFERHere's what we provide to make your journey with us exceptional:International Environment: Join a diverse team of young professionals with more than 17 nationalities, fostering a positive intercultural atmosphere.Relocation Package: We assist you in making your move to Spain as smooth as possible, offering support in all immigration and bureaucratic processes (health system, accommodation, bank appointments, traffic license, scholarship, and anything you may need!).Supportive Onboarding: From day one, you'll have a buddy to guide you through everything about the company, ensuring seamless integration.Work-life balance: We embrace flexibility, remote work and promote a healthy work-life balance.
