In this role, you'll have the opportunity to be at the forefront of our expansion efforts.POSITION OVERVIEW.The Sustainability Strategy Manager is responsible for leading the development, coordinating the execution and keeping relevant, GDS International’s (GDSI’s) roadmap for sustainability. Sustainability includes Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). The role requires experience with strategy / road map development, its implementation through line of business, across multiple countries, engaging positively with internal and external stakeholders, and delivering these works through steering committee, cross business unit work teams and consultant engagements. This role creates, through the roadmap, the opportunity for GDSI to continue being data centre industry leader in Sustainability, and ensuring sustainability is integrated into the way GDSI does business.RESPONSIBILITIESManage the development and implementation of the company’s sustainability road map and associated implementation strategies to ensure GDSI takes a leadership position in the global data centre industry.Establish, track, monitor and report on sustainability metrics and performance indicators for site, business unit and GDSI corporate.Ensure the roadmap incorporates compliance with ESG laws, precedent standards and industry benchmarks.Ensure best practices are applied to the internal and external stakeholder management, scoping, analysis, development and implementation of GDSI’s sustainability road map.Engage with GDSI CEO, business unit Senior Managers and other internal stakeholders responsible for managing their sustainability goals and objectives throughout the roadmap lifecycle.Ensure the road map is regularly reviewed, kept up to date and sustained.Ensure adequate knowledge transfer and training to Senior Managers and their staff so the business units can implement the sustainability road map as it applies to them.Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote ESG initiatives.Communicate the company’s sustainability efforts and progress to stakeholders, including employees, investors, customers, and the community.From time to time, other reasonable duties.QUALIFICATIONBachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability or a related field.Professional certifications (e.g., LEED, CSR-P, GRI, Green Mark) preferred.Minimum of 7 years of experience in an ESG or sustainability role.Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks, reporting standards, and best practices (e.g., GRI, ISO, SASB, TCFD).Proven experience in developing and implementing sustainability roadmaps / strategies.Excellent communication in both written and verbal and the ability to present and tailor messages in relation to the audience at hand.Strong analytical and project management abilities.Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization and proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.Strength in problem solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
