We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Legal & Compliance Manager to support our operations. They will be ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards by providing critical legal advice that aligns seamlessly with Heymondo’s mission: making life easier for travelers.In this role as a Legal & Compliance Manager, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the company’s integrity and compliance with industry regulations. You will be responsible for advising business areas on applicable laws and company policies, reviewing and managing contracts, and monitoring regulatory updates to ensure adherence across all aspects of our business.Your focus will be on proactively identifying and addressing potential risks, maintaining high standards of compliance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support a smooth, compliant operation. As the go-to resource for legal guidance, you will ensure that our policies are clear, effective, and aligned with our mission, supporting business growth while maintaining ethical standards.Mission:Ensure that Heymondo operates with integrity and complies with all relevant regulations by providing precise, actionable legal and compliance support. Focus on reducing risk, enhancing compliance practices, and enabling the company to deliver trustworthy, quality service to travelers worldwide.Are you ready to protect and strengthen Heymondo’s reputation as a trusted partner for travelers?Key activities / responsibilities to perform:Ensure compliance with all insurance regulatory frameworks, including Solvency II, EIOPA, IDD, and DORA.Maintain that all company operations comply with applicable European regulations, including data protection (GDPR), consumer protection, e-commerce, and financial regulations relevant to travel services.This will extend to all international and emerging markets alongside the support of local legal experts.Provide timely and clear legal advice to different business units on a range of issues, from contract negotiation and IP rights to partnerships, licensing, and customer service operations.Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide policies and procedures that align with regulatory standards in each BU and mitigate potential legal risks. This includes our international and emerging markets, alongside the support of local legal experts.Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements in both English and Spanish to ensure they meet legal standards and the Heymondo’'s business objectives.Monitor compliance activities, conduct internal compliance reviews, maintain records of regulatory interactions, audits, and compliance assessments as per the annual plan.Conduct training and awareness programs to educate employees on compliance, data privacy, and relevant regulatory issues to foster a culture of compliance.Work with internal teams to identify, assess, and mitigate risks that could affect Heymondo’s operations or reputation.This position will be reporting directly to the Founders of Heymondo.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Law; additional certifications in compliance or EU regulatory courses are highly desirable.Minimum 6 years of experience in a legal and compliance role within the travel, tech, or insurance industry, with a focus on European regulations.Solid knowledge of European legal frameworks and regulations, including GDPR, consumer rights, and digital commerce legislation.Proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken); knowledge of other European languages is a plus.Strong skills in contract drafting, document review, and legal research.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and GSuite (Google Drive, Sheets, Presentations, Docs).Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.Detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.Adaptable to a fast-paced, innovative work environment.
