PROJECT MANAGER, ONCOLOGY TRANSLATIONAL MEDICINE (TEMP - MATERNITY COVER

Oncology Translational Medicine (TM) supports programs in all phases of clinical cancer drug development.
TM is responsible for the biomarker strategy and implementation, which includes analyses of global clinical trial samples.
The aim is to understand why, and identify which, patients benefit from particular treatments, what doses and schedules of treatments to use, and the mechanisms underlying response and the development of resistance to treatment.
The remit of TM Operations is to lead the delivery of this clinical biomarker testing.
We have a temporary position (6 months) for a Project Manager to support multiple process improvement projects within the TM Operations Group.
Accountabilities.
The role holder will be accountable for ensuring that all activities are delivered in time and to budget, demonstrating behaviors and values aligned to AstraZeneca Code of Conduct and supporting policies, standards, and procedures, including compliant management of data, budget, safety, health, and environment.
What you'll do.
- Develop and manage project plans for multiple process improvement initiatives in Translational Medicine - Coordinate gathering of information from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create process workflows for specific activities - Coordinate stakeholder meetings, create agendas, take and share minutes and actions - Review existing resources (Playbooks, Ways of Working slide decks, SPOL sites, etc.) and coordinate their update and improvement - Organise MS Teams channels to enable appropriate information sharing across TM project teams - Data cleaning to enable transfer to new IT platforms of previous TM portfolio/project trackers - Input data to new IT platforms from legacy projects, supporting implementation of the tools   Essential Skills/Experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific subject - Project management experience - Experience working in biopharmaceutical industry or similar - Extensive experience of handling scientific data - Must be meticulous and highly organised, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in literacy and numeracy, to support preparation and review of documentation and spreadsheets - Experience of working with partners to drive timely and successful outcomes, through effectively working across internal and external boundaries - Experience of communicating with stakeholders, reporting progress through oral presentations and written reports   Skills & Capabilities.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact successfully with multiple functions across departmental boundaries, via MS Teams and in person - Ability to work independently, designing, executing and interpreting tasks - A confident team player who is assertive but willing to listen and learn from the views of others - Excellent organizational skills, with the proven ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure and against tight timelines - Attention to detail coupled with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously - Can identify and address critical issues and risks in the context of strategic direction   Desirable Skills/Experience.
- Experience using Smartsheet - Experience using project management methodologies (e.
., creating a project plan/Gantt charts, timeline, budget) - Experience using Visio to create schematics - Advanced data spreadsheet skills e.
